I liked this book but hated it too. Who feels the same way? And there are spoilers from Catching Fire in it.

Ken Personnaly I just enjoy reading and I enjoyed this series quite a bit. When my daughter and son gave me a kindle for xmas these where preloaded on it by them and I couldn't stop reading until I had read them all.

Lindsay Carpenter I have a love-hate relationship for a slightly different but related reason. I love the story from Hunger Games all the way through Mockingjay. I was upset by Katniss' treatment of Peeta, leading him on a lot of the time. I wish the author had developed more story on how they "grew together" because I think that may have helped me feel like she actually loved him. I was mostly upset though not with the story, but with the harsh reality. Yes, it was upsetting to read about Rue, Prim, anyone dying really, but that's the point of the book. It's suppose to be upsetting because it's about a very messed up, essentially fascist version of the United States. And realistically, these atrocities could happen. The moral of the story is all about being aware of the issues in your own government and making better choices so these types things don't have to happen. Maybe that's not the best way to state it, but I loved that it took that bold step--dystopian fiction will always be that way for me--amazing because of the statement it makes, but sad as well.

I think that maybe if you take a break for awhile and go back you might feel a little different. I also was very upset about those who died.

I didn't get lost or confused so I feel lucky that I didn't.

I liked the stories myself. But, then again I'm the type who can enjoy just about any book.

I'm glad you finished them though.

I'm back to my games of thrones book 5 waiting for book 6.

She had to shoot Coin, or the new government would have been as bad as the old one (Coin wanted to establish her own hunger games after all)

Agreed coin needed to go so the hunger games are finaly banned and not continued. Besides it was coin's doing that her sister died.
