Whitney (hello_booknerds) | 13 comments Yes! Its about a young queer girl in foster care who ends up living with a retired drag queen. I don't think it'll amount to much, but can you tell I'm reading Reverie? XD

TPBM... who's your most-loved background character? Why? <3

message 14568: by Booktastically (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 215 comments Dang, first of all, I would say that the mean girls in my past are certainly very important. They definitely helped me learn how to throw a good punch. Softly. With my pinkie. And a machete attached to said pinkie.

Whitney (hello_booknerds) | 13 comments The Hunger Games, because that series was really got me into being an avid reader.

TPBM... eBooks or traditional books (they have this amazing thing called paper in them that is super revolutionary)?

(I feel like this might get a little hate, but I think it's funny so imma leave it)

message 14572: by Booktastically (last edited Nov 14, 2020 08:58PM) (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 215 comments That is hilarious, really. It is!
It depends on, do I want a free e-book whom I'm conflicted about and don't know whether I like it or not? Or do I choose to get (spend money, you know, those pieces of paper that somehow hold a significant quantity of moolah?) the traditional phenomenon, with its scent and tear stained pages made by moi? I have no idea.

TPBM have you ever stared at your bookshelf for a few hours? Harassing it with your eye spheres? For HOURS?

message 14573: by Whitney (last edited Nov 14, 2020 09:14PM) (new)

Whitney (hello_booknerds) | 13 comments ok, first off, i love that answer so much. SO MUCH.
now, I'm answering this, or else it would cause a break in the game streak..

Yes, i have... See, I've read all the books on my shelf (because i have this thing where if I love a book I read at the library I buy it, same with eBooks(cause i can read them at school without being yelled at. Paper is King/Queen.))... so when quarantine happens and I am in need of reading material, its time to pick which set of Feels i want to deal with again.
p.s. in quarantine, i have dealt with all the Feels.
(too many days stuck at home, i have read my collection twice.)

(relevant) TPBM...

How many books do you have on your personal, physical shelf? How many of these have you read? How many would you choose to be buried with(because, as we all know, a true bookies death will be caused by literature.)?
(well, that got both morbid and poetic real fast)
(and long. Yeesh)

message 14574: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (wanderlust-disease) | 971 comments ok I loved the question ebook or actual book i have so much to say but I'm holding back!!!

To answer your question I own 86 (and a half cause me and my Boyfriend bought a huge collection of plays by Shakespeare and it was expensiiiiiiiive so we both own it too much detail though lets move on) actual books, from which I have read the 80 books. I am also waiting for one to arrive. I didn't count my academic books from uni!!!
I don't agree with the whole idea of burring someone with items that he loved (actually I don't agree with burring someone at all) I would love to give my books to my friends who are also kind of bookworms like I am and my boyfriend who I met here on goodreads. Or I would love to donate them and give them to people who want to find a safe place.

TPBM so tell us what are you currently reading and how many stars would you give it by reading so far?

message 14575: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi I just started Verlaten Straten, and sorry cannot tell you the stars, I really just started with the book (a few pages in).

TPBM what are you doing this weekend?

message 14576: by Shaden Aktham (new)

Shaden Aktham | 14 comments I am currently reading "Night Study" from the "Chronicles of Ixia". I would actually give the whole series a solid 5 stars until now. That includes the 7 books and 3 novellas.

TPBM 5 books you could read over and over and still get excited over reading it?

message 14577: by Nomad in the North (new)

Nomad in the North (nomadinthenorth) | 22 comments In no particular order...
1. Watership Down by Richard Adams
2. Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis
3. The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkein
4. Gallagher Girls Series by Ally Carter
5. A Torch Against the Nighty by Sabaa Tahir

tpbm... a movie or tv show that is better than the book it's based on?

message 14578: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (hello_booknerds) | 13 comments If there are only so many times I can answer/i have to wait (x) amount of turns before going again, someone please tell me.

I love your answer. And I agree with that burying thing, it just seemed poetic to be dead with something that killed you XD

(I also love that you met your boyfriend on Goodreads >0< that is
so amazing)

I am currently reading a number of things, one of which is Reverie by Ryan La Sala. I give it 4 stars so far because dang it's good, but to really have a five-star book you have to have a killer ending.

TPBM...
Which book is your most hated/most loved? How hard did you throw your most hated one across the room and how fast did you breeze through your most loved?

message 14579: by Booktastically (last edited Nov 15, 2020 09:09AM) (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 215 comments OMG I absolutely adore y’all’s answers! Wow, that much enthusiasm from me is seldom used. Huh. I’m flourishing. *snicker*

I JUST finished Teen Killers Club, which was great! A bit too short to be five stars, the protagonist a bit too annoying to be a Queen, the storyline was amazing, will tell you that. And stars? Let me rate it with bloody knives (you know, so it matches with the whole bookish atmosphere of said story). I would probably give it, 3.8 to 3.9 bloody knives. That rating is me being conflicted. It’ll probably change in the following days.

Crap, this was an answer to another question, forgive my dying brain cells!

Most loved book, hmmm. That's like asking which body part I want to cut off first. So okay, favorite (as of nowwww) definitely goes to The Lovely Vicious trilogy. (which I believe I've mentioned a lot so please, bear with my fangirly self). Another option: Emmie and the Tudor King (to some extent).
Worst book? Well that's easy, The Girl Who Wasn't there. (Which I would've thrown to the pits of hell. Alas. I read it on a tablet. Too much money to waste, I think.

TPBM have you ever thought of a great storyline to write about at 1 am? And you just say, oh I’ll write it when it’s morning? Then you forget? And you just hate yourself?

message 14581: by Mehsi (last edited Nov 15, 2020 10:06AM) (new)

Mehsi I may have had that one or two times, but not always at 1am also just during the day but I was too busy. And no, don't hate myself for that tiny thing.

Once again as it was overlooked: TPBM what are you doing/what did you do this weekend?

TPBM has a quote to live by?

message 14594: by Booktastically (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 215 comments My personal quote is: Why be a chicken when you can be a peacock? Or better yet, why have a knife that’s dull and it stays that way; when you can sharpen it enough to cut through insecurities and simple stupidity. And the last one is: Sarcasm isn’t a mood, it’s a way of life. Trust me, I can keep going *snicker*.

TPBM would you rather wake up to your best villain character is taking over the world or wake up knowing that your fave character is going to die in about 5 pages?
