SOLVED. Children's series in "haunted house" with ghosts/witches, buying/selling bats, basement [s]

There are a few books in the series, and it came out post-2000. It's not a horror series, but a fantasy. The main character was a girl with a long name, I think, something like Carmelita but not (could be wrong on this). There were either ghosts or witches, maybe both.
At some point in the first book they were buying or selling bats...and I think there was some kind of basement she went into...ordered in different colors, and the inside picture was a cartoonish scene (I think the first one was with the girl and her house).

Hi Natalie, can you remember anything else about these books? Did the girl live alone in the house, or were there parents, siblings, or other relatives there too, along with the supernatural elements?

The only things that are coming to mind right now are The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and The Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull. I don't think either of them really fit your description, though.....

Nope, I've read those both and those aren't it. There was a relatively large family of people, and there was something about buying/selling bats, and there was a basement.
