Hi. I saw several people who wanted to do Violet Eyes in the August nomination thread. I would like to suggest Violet Eyes, starting August 1st.
I just started reading Summer of Night by Dan Simmons (I'm only on page 5)and if anyone is interested in a buddy read, that would be great!I'm going to read Boy's Life by Robert McCammon next. If anyone wants to join in on that too, just let me know. :)
Andy wrote: "Those are some of the best classics, Kirstin!"I'm so happy to finally get to them, Andy! :)
Read that and Everville earlier in the year. You are in for a treat. Any chance you'd opt for Imajica instead?
Why, I just so happen to have it Andy so u are in luck! Although I read the first chapter of TGASS and was immediately sucked in, but I can wait if u wanna do Imajicca.
Well, I will happily join you for Imajica, but don't want to stop you from reading TGASS if you'd like to continue. I would also tag along in that discussion. I read the first half of Imajica in 2009-2010 and was really loving it, but got too busy.I will leave the choice up to you.

I have Summer of Night for one of my must reads this year. If you wanted to buddy read I wouldn't be able to start until the end of the week.

That's great! Let me know when you're ready and I'll set up a thread. :) I'm not very far in yet.

Early notice - shooting for an October buddy read of On the Lips of Children. Hopefully everyone who is reading Milk-Blood with us this month will be up for a second round of emotionally damaging literature by then. It would be great if others could join as well and I'm sure the author would be willing to stop by. I may have to discreetly slip him a $20 or something but I'll pull every string I can.I'll bring it up again mid-September but wanted to let everyone know that the book is currently 99 cents on Amazon so if you might be interested for an October read, grab a copy now.

I'd love to listen to an audio if there was a kick ass version out there but I don't think it exists yet. The dialogue is mesmerizing. Count me in.

Cool. Ill set up a thread. How does tomorrow sound? Been wanting to read it, then found it today at a thrift store...the Bachman books!
How soon?Tomorrow, she says.
Ha!
Actually, after careful consideration, I agree. I already read it so spoilers aren't a concern and falling behind shall do no harm.
More people have to join this one though because it is an all time fav. Yes, I'm pointing at YOU (depending on the direction I'm pointing.)
It's short.
It's classic.
Your excuse for not reading isn't cutting it for me.
Join us.
You make a strong case, and I haven't read it since high school (read it twice back then), but I have proofing and revising obligations that may prolongue my start date. That big hardcover Bachmann Books collection is staring me down with the demonic eye right now.
You guys! My arm hurts, so I shall cave if you stop twisting it. This is one of my first King reads, and after this one and The Long Walk, I have been hooked for life. I alwys remember the mushroom scene, for some reason.
I just picked up
if anyone is interested in a buddy read. I'll be starting either today or tomorrow :-)
Addy wrote: "Oh, so tempting! I actually have that one."Give in to the temptation!!! hahaha :) Listen, we don't have to start it right away if you got other stuff going on. We can wait. Just let me know when you wanna start...if you do!
I have a problem...lol. I just can't say no! Ok, how bout mid September like the 15th? That shud give me some time to finish my other reads:)
lol Neither can I!! That sounds fine to me. How about I set it up next week for Sept. 15?? We can always adjust if we need to!! :)
