Do you have a blog?

You might also get a twitter site.

I would also suggest setting your Goodreads account up as an author. When you post on your blog, it will show up on here.

You might start threads, and write posts about the writing craft and tell your readers about your characters. Feel free to post them in this section on the group.

Also maybe consider having some contests for readers.

Don't forget we have an author Q&A program on this group. If you're interested, send me a PM.

I am excited that my book is being published and am anxious to share the information with everyone, however, I want to be sure that I do it in the write forum! Can you point me in he right direction? Thanks!

Hi MJ. You can post about your book in the promotions section or in the Coming Attractions folder.

This isn't a promotions thread, Leelia and Alexandria. Miss Janelly is specifically asking questions about how to promote herself. Please move your posts to the promotions section. I will delete them in 48 hours. Thanks.

Hi M.J., if you haven't already, I suggest starting a blog and making sure to include the address in the "About the Author" page in your books and here on Goodreads. It's a great way to connect with readers who enjoy your books and want to learn more about you and any of your upcoming projects. If a blog is too time consuming I suggest at the very least opening a twitter account so that you can connect with new readers and still have a platform to promote new and upcoming releases.

Hope this helps. I'm a newbie and have noticed my sales always peak when I take the time to be a little more personal with my readers.

Alexandria wrote: "oh, my bad, sorry. The title is a bit ambiguous though. You can delete if you like."

You're right. I changed the title so it would be clearer. Thanks!

Kenya Wright | 37 comments Cross promotion with other related genre authors is great. You should network with others that write in your genre and consider doing posts on their blog as well as they do posts on yours.

Write another book is the number one advice. I forgot what great author said it, but the first book is your advertisement for the other books. Just keep writing. :-)
