"And I gotta prepare for few days time..."
Laya stood up, drawing her sword and taking out her pistol. How had she gotten out?
"You kill any o' my men and-" An alarm went up, saying how the prisoner had escaped and how three of her men were dead. "Ya say I ain't got no motherin' instinct... I show you motherin'! You damn confederate! You kill my men!" She swung her sword at Marcie, cutting into her skin.

Laya pulled back. She couldn't continue. That boy was killed in the middle of battle... now she was in her own tent, and she had some time to think... Men came into her tent and froze when they saw their position.
"Seems like your threat be empty, girl." Laya grinned. "Shoot 'er. Killed 'erself Billy, Nick, an' Eli she did."

Laya suddenly realized what Marcie had called her. Luckily though, none of the men had processed that.
Laya rolled her eyes. "She killed 'erself some o' yer friends. Is a 'federate. Gonna believe a word come out o' 'er mouth?" The men laughed at the absurdity of the idea.
"Miss Green 'ere was jus' checkin' me out. Thought I had meself a bug, guess I was wrong." She lied smoothly, hoping Anne wouldn't mind. "I ain't gonna stand for no 'federates 'ere in my camp."

Laya sighed heavily and thought about how they had all gotten to where they were now.

Laya got the envelope and opened it. She read it and tears pricked in her eyes. "No one gonna kill that there girl, ya hear?" She asked the man. He nodded his head, confused, and went back on guard duty. Laya sealed it in a new envelope and put it aside to post. "We're blindfoldin' 'er an' tyin' 'er up. We gonna move camp, take 'er a few miles away, and then let 'er go..."

Laya was caught by surprise. "How old are ya, Miss Green?" She signaled to the soldier to take Marcie back to the cabin.

"Well, I gotta give the orda out, Miss Green." She walked out to tell everyone to pack up. "Been 'ere too long!" She went to check on Marcie. She tightened the cloth on her eyes for extra measure and left, giving out orders.

After awhile, there wasn't a trace of the camp left. They marched until they were couple miles away, out of site of the old camp.

"Alright now..." She chose some soldiers to come back on the few horses they had. They rode out to the original camp and set Marcie down. They untied her and put her down. "Ya leave this 'ere war an' go ta ya man, ya 'ear?"
"Ya gonna take yer letta or not, Miss Marcie?"
"Now, ya go an' find ya man and get outta this 'ere war." She repeated.
