Hi there. *clear throat nervously* I hope I won't regret this (jokes!) but I'm extending the chance to submit unlimited suggestions to me about this group on this page! So, basically, you can suggest any (possible) way in which I can make this group better or more enjoyable for you.

All will be taken into account, read and executed to the best of my ability. I really want this to be a group where you can come and find something that interests you, no matter your reading style, age or gender. Suggestions are so valuable, and I want to thank all of you in advance for helping me in turn by giving them in!

Best wishes! Booknut:D

Great idea !!! =)

How about a short story competition or maybe in general just a place to post your stories for others to read comment and help you improve on.

=)

Olivia (olivia1395) | 1948 comments Honestly, I love this group. This is the group I always come to and I always have fun here. I enjoy all of the discussions and all of the people. I think this is a fantastic group and I don't have any suggestions because it doesn't need anything else:)

L | 1252 comments Booknut,
As you know i already think that this group is amazing, and i love all your discussions (including new ones) that are so inventive & origional.
Some writing challenges/ contests would be great, but other than that i am rather struggling to think of anything else.
Lucinda x

apparently the last book *nevermore* is not very good.
I also think Hunger Games and The Land of Elyon belong there

message 10: by L (new)

L | 1252 comments I have found some trilogies (and series) to have been like that, where book one was increadible so you read book 2 to then find that it was not quite as engrossing, but you then made it to book 3 which was terrible and ended so badly you wondered how it could have been connected to book one? Luckily only a small handful of trilogies and series have been like this. x

L | 1252 comments Writing challenges are great and the *new* short-story event is a fantastic idea. Also, i love the monthly poetry contest as well as all the Roleplays.

My suggestion is as we have Roleplays, Poetry and fiction what about Play writing? Having a challenge or topic for writing a play, based on a genre or of ones own choice. I am not meaning we write Shakespeare but rather something like a comedy or satirical. About anything really, as long as characters speak & can perform it.

message 19: by L (new)

L | 1252 comments Just watching the modern version of Emma (which i have seen so many times, as it is amazing!), and thought what a fine thing indeed it would be to have Jane Fairfax and Frank Churchills story as a play?! Couldn't you imagine the delight on the audience's faces as the service that Mr. Dixon does for Jane happens before their very eyes, as Jane addresses the audience with her own thoughts...and more background detail on the running of Donwell Abbey under the guidance of a very strait-talking Mr. Knightly. I am sure that one would love to know the thoughts of these characters as distinctive moments are played out before ones very eyes- after all, in Austen's books we are left in the dark until all is revealed later on.

that would be awesome.

I'd love if we could have a challenge some time where we could write our own plays and maybe... just maybe use different already created fictional characters to create our own play.

That would be so much fun. :)

Hmm. We have a 'Posts to Make You Smile' folder, if that counts. You can check out the contents here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

And let me know whether we can add anything to it :)

Can we add this for a discussion?

Highlights/accomplishments of 2012. What did 2012 mean to you?

message 40: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (velliya) | 424 comments I was wondering if we could share aspects of our own writing.
A "Share a favourite character from your writing"
Or a roleplay where you are a character from your book/story etc.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

I love both of those ideas!

This is pretty self-explanatory.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to drop a note to say - since it's the beginning of another fabulous year - that I want you all to tap into your imaginative minds and think of some suggestions for the group. Is there stuff you'd like to add? Stuff you'd like to see? Events you'd like to have going on? Let me know and I'll try my best to cater to everyone's suggestions.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions about how to boost activity/allow for more gender diversity (hey, we fangirl heaps, but we don't mean to scare the guy bookworms away!!) let me know :D

Hugs, BN101

Leyah (serferrant) | 291 comments How about:

- a Doctor Who roleplay (yes, I'm obsessed)

- A Facebook contest - i.e. how many books you can review in one month (facebook means face in a book, in case you didn't know)

- Amazing places! We want to know where everyone is in the reading realm - i.e. Middle Earth, Narnia, Deltora, etc - and tell us what you've seen, heard and smelt.

- As well as the poetry contest, we could just have a thread where people post their poems.

Ooh .. I nominate The doctor who role play idea. That would be totally EPIC!

I also agree with the AMAZING PLACES topic. That would be good and would attract a lot of attention I think.

A TV shows topic where we can discuss our favourite shows. Whether they're based off books or not.

message 47: by Monique (new)

Monique (moniquecampbell) (There are guys here??)
Mabye something sporty or arty that BOTH genders would be interested in. That would be great if we had all of the arts thing, besides poetry, etc.

A TV show topic would be amazingly cool!

message 50: by Lady Poppy (new)

Lady Poppy | 367 comments I have an idea for reading. We could have a Pick it for me reading thingymabobber. You would say the types of books you like, then someone else gives you a book to read. You have to read it in that month or something.

I saw this somewhere else and thought it sounded fun. If it already exists in this club, then I'm sorry :)
