It is one thing to write in a book that Lee Harvey Oswald killed President Kennedy. It is quite another to prove that before an arbitrator.

Mr. Bugliosi, you say in your book that you are confident that Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin of JFK. Would you or one of your associates be willing to take this before a group of arbitrators? If the arbitrators rule in your favor, I will give you $25,000. Chump change to you I know, but just imagine how satisfying it will be to prove your point conclusively.

I know that you are ill as of this writing, and I wish you a speedy recovery, so if you yourself are not able to do this, perhaps you can have Tom Hanks or Bill Paxton pick up the gauntlet, since they are making a movie of your book.

Yawn. Just re-reading Bugliosi's masterpiece now. He has nothing to prove to anyone, and certainly, as those who walked on the moon have been saying to nutcase deniers since 1969, the truth needs no defence.

Why would Mr. Bugliosi need anyone's money? It's not why he wrote the book.
