How about "GOT CRIOLLO?"

Jacalyn | 141 comments YAY! Canon Girls UNITE!!!! Dang, I should go see if there's a Canon Girl flair over at FB. LOL Besides, I shoot Canons sounds way cooler, right? HAHAHA

BTW I use flickr. It's got a great community. :) Awesome photog site. I'm over there. I am lazy about uploading my photos to facebook. I'm just too lazy. It's way too easy to just dump from my photo manager to flickr. Not so much with FB which makes everything just so annoyingly difficult. LOL But I include photos in blogs and my blogs all go right into my notes section on FB... sooo

Jacalyn | 141 comments Miriam - I'd recommend CANON! HAHAHA Seriously though... I'd recommend a small point and shoot that allows you to work on manual. Then pay attention to the settings your camera chooses for you automatically. You can start to get some ideas for what to do. When you are ready to graduate up to a megabucks camera, you can.

Truthfully I'd recommend avoiding HP and Kodak. Blargh. I also wouldn't recommend the Sony point and shoots. Nikon has some good point and shoots and so does Canon. I also recommend Olympus. Canon has a superior product because they embraced digital way early on. They use great glass, even on their point and shoots. Olympus was also an early adopter.

I will say that I had a Digital Elph as my first digital camera and I ADORE them. I'm trying to get my mother to buy an Elph. They are fantastic cameras that take awesome quality photos and best of all they will fit in your shirt pocket or jeans pocket. You can't go wrong! Except I will warn you it is very tiny and easy to lose when your entire family is doing the bathroom run at Union Station in DC. :( Darn my husband!! LOL

Jacalyn | 141 comments Gisela - I thought of that one, too. LOL I was trying to figure out a good one for being a poison taster... something to be snarky in the vein of "Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you." Play on the poison taster thing... but I'm just not getting it to work out right. "Poison tasting - taste it coming" just seems redundant and blah.

message 305: by Mir (new)

Mir Thanks for the advice! I do have a really ancient manual Olympos that belonged to my grampa in the 70s -- it produces great pictures if you have 10 minutes to set up a shot, nobody moves, etc. But it is way to heavy to lug around.

I think the idea of playing on poison is great, but I can't think of anything either!

Taste it coming?! HAHAHAHA I love it!

message 307: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 141 comments Any time, Miriam!!

Yeah I love that poison idea... but i just can't quite word it quite right.

Gisela - HEHE :)

message 308: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Lady Ozma- "I shoot Canons sounds way cooler, right?" Of course it does!! Yeah, I've never used flikr but it seems like a good place to stash your photos.
Gisela- "GOT CRIOLLO?" I LOVE that!!
Miriam- I highly recommend the SX1 IS. That line of cameras is really good. I have the first one in the IS series(which came out about 4 years ago) and I really love it. I only want a new camera to be able to play around with lenses! :D here's the site to canon's digital cameras:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/con...
You should definitely upgrade from the old Olympus!

message 309: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 141 comments Rachel, you can come play with my lenses any time. :) It's so much fun!!! :)

Hmmm... I think I need a flair that says "I Shoot Canons" HAHAHA Or a tshirt. Something.

message 310: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 141 comments (Uh I should mention the real crack up is that I live in a town where there's a zillion cannons... LOL)

message 311: by Mir (new)

Mir Cool, thanks! Those look pretty good. Can't afford one right now but maybe a used one will turn up.

Gah, trying to think of a line about poison has got that old "She's Poison" song stuck in my head. Now all I can come up with is something to do with "pretty poison".

message 312: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 141 comments I can relate to the $$ part. I had to work hard to replace my SLR after my last one got swiped. But I have cameras to play with around here. LOL People just hand me off their old cameras. Kind of fun though cause I have this nice little vintage camera collection!

message 313: by Mir (new)

Mir Heh, I have a collection of old cameras that took non-standard films. You know, the different cartridges that were hard to find, and non-35-mm. Even one of the early automatic models from the 1930s. All useless!

message 314: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Lady Ozma- aww thanks!! Is there not a flair that says i shoot canons? I'll have to go check it out. Sorry to hear that someone swiped yur SLR :-[ thats soo sad! I would have cried for weeks! lol
Miriam- yeah camera equipment is expensive!!!!!! But thats really cool you have a collection of old cameras! Even though they don't work anymore, I wouldn't say they were worthless. :-]

message 315: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 141 comments I dunno if there's a flair or not. I want a real one. HAHA :) Cause my strap that says CANON in huse letters... not enough. :) And I did cry for weeks. It happened the day before my birthday/Mother's Day. It was awful. :( But all is good. I have a new one - the newer model! HEHE

Ok, finally! I got the poll up. Go vote for your favorite t-shirt design idea! Poll is here, designs are here. Last day for voting is the 10th!

message 317: by missART (new)

missART | 71 comments T-shirt update!

Okay sorry I've been so busy! I thought I'd overview what I believe are some solid choices for a shirt and why:

Style "1001"; Pre-shrunk, crew (round) neck, sizes S-2XL, $3.70/shirt ($4.70 for 2xl)
http://www.mccrearystees.com/prod.cfm...

Style "1005"; Pre-shrunk, V-neck, sizes S-2XL, $3.95/shirt ($4.95 for 2xl)
http://www.mccrearystees.com/prod.cfm...
These two shirts are nice because 1) they are pre-shunk which means less warping of the print job after the first wash, 2) made of 5.8 once cotton, which means they are thicker (won't have to worry 'bout your bra showing thru as much!)

Tell me what you guys think. We don't even have to go with this company if someone has another place they can get the shirts cheaper. I have just worked with this comp and know them to be good. :)

message 318: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Hey! I think the first style 1001 looks great and think the prices are really good. Thanks for putting the photos up!

Oh, yeah! Go ahead and declare your favorite, Commander Maria! ^_^

message 325: by Maria (new)

Maria V. Snyder (maria_v_snyder) | 186 comments Okay - I will ;>

I did have a hard time picking between two designs - the winning one by Alli and.....drum roll please.....
and the one I voted for was H - Valek's Corp!! (he has a special place in my heart.)

I also like to ask the designer permission to make up a few of the shirts as give aways for my readers - not sure how you go about it - do you send a jpeg to a printer?? Please let me know.

And Congrats again to Alli and congrats to Ms./Mr. H :)

Thanks to all who participated... I got really busy with school and was not able to coordinate making those shirts, but now I'm off for the summer, why not!?

*enters MVS t-shirts into Google tasks*

Stay tuned, the shirts will be a new thread within the week. Topic closed.
