I love that photo, Karen! Everything about it. :-)

So, how did the cocktail taste? I've meant to try some of the mouthwatering recipes in Merry Christmas, Darling!. Have any of you tried any of those? They sound absolutely divine.

Anyway, your post makes me want to re-read BRB...

I'm not normally that interested in recipes, but some of those in Josh's anthology did look really good, I agree.

Anne and Johanna: I loved the taste, a blend of cognac/armagnac, the almond syrup, bitters, and a twist of lemon. It's also very strong. : ) But with a complex blend of flavors, and not overly sweet. It's the sort of cocktail that's exactly to my taste. I predicted that when I read the ingredients.

Hj: It's an ingredient in the Mai Tai, but I have to admit I'm kind of "off" rum after an unfortunate episode last year involving a dinner party and some very fine and very delicious (at the time) rum. ;

Most Tango dancers aren't heavy drinkers. We may enjoy our wine or beer (or when in Argentina, champagne by the glass), but a glass or two is more than sufficient. Otherwise it's like driving under the influence. And my husband is a light drinker. So I rarely have the opportunity or inclination to enjoy cocktails, but I lean towards vodka martinis or drinks with bitters (Manhattans). I also enjoy cognac and eau de vie. I do plan to try out some of Josh's MC,D recipes.

It was. He's our all but on-paper our son-in-law. Both daughters have amazing SOs. : )

Ah! My kind of drink. :-)

I love these reports on literary recipes. The SO bought me Tequila Mockingbird Cocktails with a Literary Twist by Tim Federle for Christmas. Sad to say I haven't had a chance to really investigate yet. I will celebrate finishing edits on Stranger on the Shore by drinking -- er, reading -- that book.

My spring break got a perfect start when there was a good-looking delivery guy behind my door with my Japanese copies of Fatal Shadows and A Dangerous Thing this morning. :-)

Here are some pictures of the happy event. These books are the cutest things and I'm totally, completely in love with the illustrations.

What a wonderful way to start the day (both the good-looking delivery guy AND the books)! ;-) Enjoy! I'm thinking that I need to order them, too...I'm feeling very envious of those of you who now have them.

Antonella | 11568 comments Thank you for the pics. I join the club of the envious ones ;-).

Was the letter in the second pic an extra?

Loretta is touring up in Alaska (lucky gal!) and she asked me to post a couple of photos for her. Here is the first one. It's -- and I quote Loretta -- Will&Tay looking out over Vancouver waiting for their cruise to start. :-)

I think Will and Taylor could really use a nice long relaxing cruise. :-D

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 2083 comments When is the Fair Game paperback releasing? I think Josh should be chillaxin on my new deck, LOL. Or maybe it'll be delivered in time for our trip to Colonial Williamsburg/Busch Gardens. Pity they wouldn't in a million years let me take it on a roller coaster. Those pics would be pure AWESOME. :D :D :D

ARGH.

Still no sign of it. Carina was working directly with Amazon on this one, and it seems like the release date became very fluid all at once. :-D So no one really can say for sure, except they think it will be soon.

I would love to take an Alaskan cruise.

message 694: by Loretta (new)

Loretta (loris65) | 1545 comments I can't recommend it enough. The scenery was fabulous. The mountains go right down to the water. The mountains in the front were covered with green, green trees while snow covered mountains soared behind them. I hadn't realized that the rain forest there was the second largest in the world. I wish I was a better photographer. But I got some good shots with my point and shoot camera. I also got a couple of good videos of orcas. Go!

I thought we had a Fanyon-meeting in New Zealand first? Maybe an Alaskan Fanyon cruise via Iceland to New Zealand? ;-))
