Hello, I've just joined after finding this group. I've been lurking about on Goodreads for about three years now, writing reviews and being nosey but only recently received a Kindle as a gift. I've been working away a lot so have found it a useful and fun thing to have. I live in the UK, I'm an archaeologist (hence the moniker) and so far I've used my kindle to read a lot of bizarro, classic lit, find new authors and also become one of the 20 gazillion people who downloaded 50 Shades of Grey.

Hi Shovelmonkey. I have a Certificate in Archaeology which I studied for about 15 years ago - at my age though, my knees are too knackered to take much practical interest. Done a fair bit of field walking though.

Only recently I found Goodreads but I enjoy it a lot now that I am here :). I am still a bit confused and dont always find my way around but that will hopefully change.

I am a german writer and avid reader, mostly of fantasy, chick-lit and mystery novels. I have published books in all three genres in german and have now translated the first part of my fantasy series into english.
