Now that Shannon knows that Sam is involved in something sexual with Mr. Lamb, I thought the truth would come out at home. Wouldn’t you think that Shannon would be feeling guilty about Sam’s sacrifice?

Ah, the family vacation. What a good way to let the reader know that the entire country is being taken by The Store.

At this point, I think I'd be moving to the city where there is a Walmart. Or is that like stepping from the pan into the fire? :)

It's a bit creepy that I was talking about Stepford Wives and singing "... sold my soul to the company store" only to have both references appear in the book.
