     After reading this Spy series I thought James Bond was a sissy.

   Though popular in their day 50 years ago, they're not well known now; not in print. But they are actually better spy/assassin stories than Bond. Grittier, more realistic, more violent. Nothing like the silly Dean Martin movies, which were essentially comedies. Why the Hamilton estate doesn't put these books out POD and as e books, I do not know. Failing that, most of them can be found used here and there. They really are very good.
