The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth

The Miseducation of Cameron Post came out back in February and has received four starred reviews. Is this title holding up against some of the newer releases?

I am reading this one right now, and have been for MONTHS. For some reason, it's very slow going for me, although beautifully written.

I really enjoyed the book. It wasn't a "quick" read, but steady for me. I am struggling to express what was so wonderful about this book, but it is the best story of a young lesbian that I have read. I think it seems authentic; I have asked my sister (lesbian) to read it and tell me what she thinks. I would love to know if it is as well written in her eyes as it was for mine. I do think it deserves recognition. I think it could be a contender for the award.

I read this book when it was released, and it still holds up, for me, as the best book I've read in 2012. I've been recommending it to everyone I talk to, and I hope it's not forgotten come award time.
