Check this blog out. Though it's not an absolute answer it should help to give you some insight.

Check to see if your 5 star reviews read as "real" or not. If they were solicited, there's a good chance that they look fake. Amazon customers are learning to recognize fake reviews.
These fake reviews usually go like this:
"This is the best book in [genre]. I absolutely recommend this great book to ANYONE. (Insert plagiarized or slightly altered book blurb here)
Generally speaking, your book should not have all 5 star reviews. It just looks bad. Check out the best sellers lists. Most, if not all, on a given list will all have varying numbers of 1,2,3,4 and 5 star reviews.
Even if your work deserves all 5 star reviews, your book's page won't look legit unless it has some 2, 3 and 4 star reviews. Harsh reality.
As far as ranking goes, no one knows exactly how the algorithm works, or which factors weigh heaviest.
Our group, Author To Author Support, has a lot of cool features that you can use to promote your book, including review exchange (although we frown on people exchanging reviews without actually reading the material)
In no way am I implying that your reviews aren't real (I didn't look). I'm just raising the point for discussion.

Thank you for the response. I've had a few moments where I did question having all five stars so far. It's wonderful that the book has been read so enthusiastically, but I do also recognize the potentially questionable appearance of these ratings to someone scrolling through books to choose from for purchase. I'm grateful to those who've taken time to post a review after reading the book, but I know they're not all writers or professional reviewers, and so their good intention could raise eyebrows depending on how they write the review. For example, one person finished the book and contacted me through email. I asked if this person might post his/her thoughts on Amazon. Once he/she started to do so, I actually received an email later that expressed a worry that his/her review wouldn't sound as articulate as others. I almost suggested it not be posted then, if it were a source of stress. I ended up responding with more thanks for his/her concerns and said to just be sincere and not worry. The review ended up posting and it DOES seem awkward, but it was heartfelt. So I know it's a gamble at this stage, and a saturation point online has probably long been hit, well before I released my novel in late June, to where everyone is incredibly aware of possibly fraudulent postings and schemes when it comes to self-promotion and manipulation of the numbers to achieve "success" with one's book. I know I'm far removed from being able to control most perception post-publication beyond readings or signings I can organize, but as far as my online curiosities concerning Amazon, your feedback has helped me understand better the way others see the screen, and what they likely do with that information. So, thanks again for your time in chatting with me! I'll check out your group linked above and be in touch. Have a beautiful weekend.

Thanks! I start working on yours!

Not really sure about what the likes accomplish but the tags are important as they can help readers find your book.
This is a wonderful site and I feel thankful that people start these opportunities for writers, especially us newbies. But I spent 3 hrs one day liking and tagging through a whole list then an hour and half another day doing likes and tags not counting the other random times I've gone through and liked and tagged for others. I did this faithfully and honestly even showing the numbers. But I was sadly disappointed when my numbers barely changed. When people say they are liking and tagging and I didn't see the numbers or tags on my page change much well . . . what can I say. I found more reciprocating from the FB sites when they do the like chains. Just my humble experience.
