All caught up.....sigh....now I'm listening to Innocent in Death which I've previously read, and I just finished re-reading Visions in Death. Can't get enough of these stories!!!!!
Have about 18% remaining on my first read of Glory in Death. I will finish it this afternoon at my office as I'm in for a few hours doing paperwork and hopefully meeting a client or 2 before 12:30PM eastern US time.
Gary, are you reading them in order then? Glory is special....Love Chapter 9....I know they are all stand alone books, but I think being able to go through them in order is really nice...
I wouldn't think of them as standalone books, Jeanine. Definitely read them in order, Gary. Very important.
Kirsten, thank you. I agree, but I've read elsewhere that they should be considered stand alone books. So, I was a little hesitant to say what I really think. LOL Let's just say that I have read them all in order and encourage my friends to read them in order too. The first time I read the series, which was just this past year, I skipped over some of the novellas and went back and picked them up at the end....Not a big deal, but for me, I think it would have been better to have read them in order, right along with the full length books.
Yes I am reading them in order. 2 down and lots to go. I only have books 3 and 4 and 7.5 left currently in my Nook tbr as the rest are all in sample form on my Nook.
I remember I discovered the novellas after I'd read the first 10. I always wondered why there seemed to be something missing between Holiday and Conspiracy.
I'm nearly done with Promises in Death and am thoroughly enjoying (view spoiler)! LOL. Eve's so totally out of her element here. On the otherhand I'm so sad about the homicide case in this book. so unexpected.
Up to date - just waiting, just hanging around . . . waiting for the next one.I introduced a dear friend to the series about two years ago and she has motored through the books.
We met for lunch last week:-
her: can't wait until the next In Death. It's so long to wait isn't it?
me: totally, but the novellas keep you going.
her: what novellas?
me : oops
read the first 3 books sometime back then couldn't continue. Restarted from book one last month and currently on book 7.. Long way to go before I catch up....But loving it very much so far..

Started the audio of Indulgence in Death. Loved the hilarious start and also how far Eve and Roarke have come in the series.
I now see where one of the many well known mixed metaphors of Eve's comes up: (view spoiler)
Adorable..
I reread Naked, Glory & Immortal with the group starting January this year then somehow, I fell behind. There were things going on and other books to read - blah blah blah. However, I'm definitely going to try to marathon
and
this month so I can catch up to the group. :)

I was a bit disappointed that I was right about who the villian was fairly early in the book. I didn't have all the details exactly right, but close enough. That was more than made up for by the back story on Sommerset and Roarke, details on Eve's childhood, and Peabody taking on larger role.

I've gotten so into the characters and the story now that I don't worry about whether I've identified the murderer or not. It's just a great series.
To Jeanine still not sure how to reply but if you read this, I started to read ID f rom the first time all those years ago when naked came out (I still have all the blue lady covers), I've read the entire series at least 10 times and was and still am on ID.net for about 10 years.
Once I learn how to navigate this site I'd love to join the discussion. Susan

My friend introduced me to the ID series just a year ago now; I had a lot of catching up to do. I have read them all and most of them multiple times now. I love to meet other adoring and devoted fans :):) I have trouble trying to navigate the In Death.Net site but this one has been a little easier.
I just started here yesterday and am finding it really confusing, but I'll learn. I have loved ID since 20 years ago when Naked came out. I am so obsessed I have three sets of the books: one set on kindle, one set paperbacks I keep in the apartment and read until the pages are loose and a complete set in the basement storage in case there's a fire in my apartment!!!
I reread the series every year or two, start to finish and never get tired of it, always find something new and thought provoking.
Once I can figure out this site I'll e able to participate in discussions, and remember if I don't answer it's because I am technologically challenged and can't figure something out, not because I am rude!! My favorite book is Portrait - wish I had the big Irish family! Thanks for writing, best s

Don't be afraid to experiment and ask questions. We're here to help you as we were all in your shoes at one point.

Thanks everyone! I'll do my best to figure it out! s
I just went INDEATH.net and it has not been been updated or used in a long time. So does anyone go there any more?
I still go there but many of the regulars whose posts I came to enjoy are no longer there- one told me about this site and that's why I joined. Look forward to new discussions.
