Do you think there should be another book? Something of Harry's son?

Weiting Yeah it'd be a lot better!

Avani I'd really like to see another book focusing on Scorpius Malfoy. That would be very interesting.

Weiting I know what I mean its something like Harry's son, Ron and Hermione's daughter and like you said Scorpius Malfoy and then like Neville's and Luna's kid.

Avani True, true. Oh by the way, Neville married Hannah Abbott, not Luna :)

Vanessa Andujo I think that she should do a one of James/Sirius/Peter/Remus. She did a small flash fiction of them already but it's so short!

I don't think doing one of Harry's son would be any good because the drama wouldn't be there. Unless maybe some of Voldomort followers start trouble and maybe target him but that would mimic the Harry Potter books plot too much.

Did you read the prequel involving James and Sirius as young hooligans? I thought that was interesting :)

Weiting Avani wrote: "True, true. Oh by the way, Neville married Hannah Abbott, not Luna :)"

Well it was just a guess!

Yeah that'd be nice.
Or maybe Voldermort would have married in secret and have children. And the kids like start hunting Harry's kids for revenge for their dad? Maybe a similar plot?

C.C. I would love to read something new set in this universe, but I would be terribly disappointed if it was the same story with Harry's kids. I would be much more interested in either something only tangentially related to these books (for example, set in Hogwarts, but only featuring some professors we now) or totally unrelated (perhaps we could visit the American wizarding community and see how things are different across the pond or go to continental Europe). But I'm definitely not interested in Son of Harry Potter.

Rachel YES!

Weiting Yeah so anybody here got another idea for Rowlings?

Rohan I think there should be a prequel about the generation before and stuff that was mentioned, but just with details... something more about their childhood - snapes, jamess, voldemorts, etc...

Marisol I'm not a really good fan of harry potter but i still like reading his books to tell you the true

Totally.

Rebecca I love Harry Potter with all my heart, but I worry they will just over do it. You need to know when to stop and if Rowling writes another it wont be the same. although, I wouldn't mind a prequel. The time of James, Lily and Snape.

Jasmine I'd rather it be about Harry's parents or a book about Voldemort coming to power, we don't know many details about that time.

Jessica Oooh I really like the idea of going to another magical school. The others were in France and Russia right? She could probably include updates or appearances from the HP cast, but in a totally new setting with new characters.

Really though, anything sounds better than the new crap she is trying to write.

message 18: by Sue (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sue Bursztynski I think this universe has run its course. You know, Tolkien tried to write some more LOTR stuff, set in the next age, and found it just didn't work. Let it go. Enjoy what's there and hope that perhaps she will create another world once she gets over the adult fiction.

All the stuff suggested here sounds as if it could easily be covered in fan fiction and probably will be. ;-)

Wea yeah that would be awesome, HP fans will surely love this! <3

i totally agree with that!!!!! your right the books dont tell to much about harrys parents and it would be so interesting if Rowling would make a book about that! :D

Weiting Well now I guess everybody wants kind of a prequel.

Karen There is a fanfic that has been published (actually, 3 of them) that are supposed to be approved by Rowling. I think the first one is James Potter and the *something* of the ancients. But don't quote me on that.

Prequel would be fun! :P

Kristin Voldemort's Rise to power would be great...

I would really like to read about that "lost" time period between Tom Riddle's time at school and the night he tries to kill baby Harry.

Ooh, yes, definitely. Maybe Salem Witches' Institute in the US, even.

I know, are you saying,
James from Harry's dad or Harry's son.
There's I think something with Harry's son and the book is James Potter and the Elder's Crossing.

Did you read the interview? It's quite an eye-opener.

Django Avani wrote: "True, true. Oh by the way, Neville married Hannah Abbott, not Luna :)"

Neville should have married Luna! I think they are perfect for each other!

They would've been cute together. Luna married Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander (author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).

JK Rowling's family tree sketch-out:

Estefania I really think JK Rowling should right another book about all the characters kids, it would be amazing! I'd love to see how's the interaction between malfoy and harry's kids and if there's still the same old rivality.

Kristin Avani wrote: "Brianna wrote: "i just read the interview........... dumbledore?? seriously if u know what im talking about"

Yeah, I know, right?"

What interview???

Jacey I think Rowling was firm that there would be 7 books and then it would all be over. I guess this is why she added the some-years-later section. I'd quite like to see Harry's adventures as an Auror, but I don't think we'll ever see them from Rowling.

And as for fanfic - some stories are great, but some are very self-indulgent. I just got 3/4 of the way through one and after 100,000 words nothing much had happened and there was no dramatic tension.

That sounds like a good idea. *sniffs the air* Yes, I definitely smell a fanfiction coming on. Maybe even a group fanfiction. Somebody else would have to start it, though, since I didn't read the epilogue.

Andrea I don't think Rowling should do a Harry Potter spin off. Harry and his family and friends (and the entire wizarding world for that matter) have been through enough, give him a break, lol. I also wish she hadn't published the epilogue at the end of the 7th book. I kind of like when there is an air of mystery at the end of a series.

Mind you this is a really old interview. This has changed quite a few times for Neville. First in the movies where is proclaims his love for Luna and then other times where she mentions that Neville just stays on his own and teaches at Hogwarts.

Anyway, I would like to see something not exactly the generation after, but perhaps two generations after when something else is about to happen or there is a new crisis. Or I would like to hear it from Remus and Tonk's sons view.

It's unknown. I hope so!

message 46: by Jeni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jeni When I read a series that I just love, I always seem to want there to be more, even after the story arc has been completed.

While I adore the world Jo Rowling created, I don't want any more stories there. Maybe small pieces to fill in blanks, but a new story arc with a generation not haunted by the greatest dark wizard of all time sounds, well, boring.

Kamalika Talukdar yeah i think Rowling should write one on the potter children too!

Why would that ruin it for you? It has nothing to do with the story at all.

It'd just give me a different view of Dumbledore, that's all! After all I don't think anyone in my schools knows this.
