Woo-hoo! I've finally finished something! I read Here's the Story for 5 points (read a book from the last 5 years) I'm so happy to finally be on the board!
OK. I just tried to do the strike-through html formatting and it crossed off everything after that book as well. How do I get it to just cross off that book?
Finished Madapple for 25 points (book by an author with my name, in this case my middle name). I'm at 40 points I think.
I just finished Anne Frank Remembered for 5) Read a book about a person you admireI admire both Anne Frank and Miep Gies! I'm surprised I never read this book before! If you haven't read it I highly recommend it, it is amazing.

To make it easier, Jamie, you could create a new topic "2009 Challenge" where each person has one post. Everyone could just edit their own post as they went along to reflect their current total points. That way, you wouldn't have to scroll down forever to see who is at what. Just an idea. =)
hmm that is a pretty good idea lol..would def. be easier for me. Then once a week or so i could just update the leader board thing by looking at everyone's totals. Good thinking Kelsey!!
would it be confusing for everyone else if we did it the way kelsey suggested? just let me know..if i mean it's not the end of the world if i keep doing it like this..i mean..it was my own fault because i waited like a week to update it. i'm using excel spreadsheets and stuff so i'm not scrolling too much. whatever way is easier for everybody else..
It sounds like a good idea to me. Do you mean we publish our lists and then do the cross out html as we go? Or just put up the numbers and then fill in the title as we read them?
I guess either one would work fine. I'd just publish my list and cross stuff out as I go, but whatever works...
Yeah! I like this idea. I also like seeing my titles crossed out as I finish my books... haha. And this sounds much simpler.
I Finished Where The Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein for #10 for 5 points for a total of 40 Points.
I just finished Game of Thrones for 25 points and What is the What for 15 points. Both were great books!
Kelsey, I just wanted to let you know what Jamie made a different thread for the challenge where we post our list once and then edit by crossing out titles as we get done with them. If you look for it, I'm sure you'll find it and it explains what to do much better than I am.
Oh I know. I was the one who came up with the idea for a different thread. I just forgot and was commenting on the books. I probably should have posted under "what you're currently reading". Thanks for letting me know though! =)
Kelsey, Sorry. I didn't mean to sound like I jerk. I just didn't know who all didn't find out about the new thing.
Bonnie, isn't The Dante Club set in New England?Oye, you're totally right! Thank you for pointing that out! I got it confused with another book. I'm deciding my reading based on another challenge and then every week or so seeing how what I've read fits into this challenge. When I come back this weekend from my trip I'll change that and update my total accordingly (and will be careful that the new books I add actually fit!).
Also, I know that there is the new thread for showing our points by crossing books out each time we finish a task, but can people still post what task they just finish here (if they want)? I really like seeing what people read for what challenge task and I'm not observant enough to figure out which task just got crossed off another person's list. Plus, no one would've probably caught my mistake if I had just crossed it off my list.
No problem! I am also sorry if I sounded like a jerk, I was just confused haha. Glad to have helped (if I did indeed help).
Oh, you didn't sound like a jerk at all! I was being an idiot. And I'm glad that someone pointed it out now, because it would be worse if I finished and then somebody noticed!
I love how we're apologizing for being jerks. It's unfortunate that the internet can't convey facial expressions and tones of voice...

For a total so far of 15 points.
I read most of it yesterday and finished the last 50 so pages today. It was a good look at OCD and its sister disorders, their treatment and how they not only affect the people that have the disorder but also their family and friends. I highly recommend this book to anyone that might have OCD or knows someone that does. It is written from a Christian Psychologist's perspective. Very Good!! 5 Stars and 164 pages.
