Yummy... peanut butter! :D

Curt Lorde | 33 comments Welcome to the neighborhood. Peanut butter and jelly!

message 2057: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat I don't like my peanut butter with jelly or jam. Granted, I generally dislike grape jelly in general. I do love peanut butter and banana or peanut butter and honey. Adding dark chocolate to either of those is awesome. Putting them inside a doughnut is even better.

Welcome!

Peanut butter and tuna salad sandwiches rock! My wife turns up her nose every time I make one :-)

message 2059: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments Just don't fry them. Frying them is what killed Elvis you know.

OOOoooooo... Peanut butter, Banana AND dark chocolate? Ooooo...
(wipes drool from chin)
Gonna have to try that next time. But in a donought, well, that requires frying. See warning above about frying peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Better to eat them "raw" you'll live longer.

message 2062: by Curt (new)

Curt Lorde | 33 comments Not liking Peanut butter and grape jelly? Why that's one of the summits of post-apocalyptic barbarism!

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments Naw... dat were his ghost. See you'ns caint get Fried PB&B samiches in heaven, they ain't healthy, so's he hangs 'round here. Specially malls.

I like apples in my tuna salad, but I don't know about this. It's kind of suspect to me.

Robert J. Sullivan (robertjsullivan) | 10 comments I don't think the problem is frying pb & banana. I think it's okay as you don't actually eat them.

message 2067: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments Mmmm... sort of like pulling the trigger on a gun and pointing a gun at your head. OK to do one or the other, not both. Gottcha!

message 2068: by Al "Tank" (last edited May 07, 2011 01:41PM) (new)

Al "Tank" (alkalar) | 346 comments Must be the banana that does you in. I've eaten fried peanut butter sammiches and I'm still alive and cancer free. Fry 'em in butter. Yummmmm!

Almost as good as friend cheese sammich and tomato soup.

message 2069: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm still nauseous over the pb and tuna salad.

That's as bad as summoning cthulhu.

As for pb, I prefer strawberry preserves. Mmmmmm

message 2070: by Robert J. (new)

Robert J. Sullivan (robertjsullivan) | 10 comments I think that is one way to summon Cthulhu.

message 2071: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat I'm with Ala on the strawberry preserves.

Chocolate chips are good in chili.

message 2072: by Genia (new)

Genia Lukin And chili peppers are good in chocolate.

message 2073: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline Kirk (jacquelinekirk) Hi, I'm Jackie and I live in the south west of Scotland. I've been an avid reader for ... ever it seems! : ) Mostly fantasy but I do enjoy a lot of sci fi too.
I've got a lot of books and my TBR pile always grows bigger instead of shrinking. I tell myself I won't buy any more until I've cleared some space on the shelves but that never seems to happen!

message 2074: by Deanne (new)

Deanne | 264 comments Jackie, I have the same problem with buying books when I haven't read the twenty I already have.

As for pb, I prefer mine unadulterated or better yet marmite,(you either love it or hate it)

message 2075: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome Jackie :)

I've never tried marmite. It doesn't even sound attractive.

message 2076: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat Welcome, Jackie!

message 2077: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments Hi Jackie! I sure know what you mean with the TBR stack. Since jumping in here my list has doubled, but all this being "social" stuff sure cuts into my reading time. Life was so much simpler as a hermit!

Welcome!

Yeah, I'm just as bad with my book pile. I mean, I only have two places to get second-hand books, since I live in a small town, but that doesn't stop me from having a whole shelf dedicated to them! It doesn't help that they are so cheap! It's amazing what you can get with small change, or a couple of bucks. One time, I got eleven books for just under $5.

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments ...which was contributed to greatly by fried peanut butter sandwiches. These were reputed to be his favorite meal. Peanut butter does tend to gum up the pipes! :-)

message 2080: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments LOL I'm sure that would have made a big difference, if only he'd known. Yes; "poor Elvis"!

message 2081: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat I believe his various addictions also contributed...

message 2082: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments Nahhhh... drugs is good fer us; ask any pharmaceutical company! (Just don't read the backs of their ads!!)

message 2083: by Timothy (new)

Timothy Pilgrim (oldgeezer) | 26 comments Hi Ala,
I know I'm a bit behind the game. You've never tried Marmite!!!? You haven't lived!! spread THINLY on hot buttered toast! bliss!!
All the best Paul Rix [oldgeezer]

message 2084: by Curt (new)

Curt Lorde | 33 comments Help! I've fallen and my Viagra won't let me stop humping!

message 2085: by [deleted user] (new)

Marmite sounds like something you'd name an exotic explosive...

And Curt, that sounds like a personal problem. You might want to seek professional help.

message 2086: by Curt (new)

Curt Lorde | 33 comments It is personal! I'm the only human here! The cats are going, " Yeah! Right!" and the dog can't stop laughing!

message 2087: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh...ok

*backs away slowly*

uh huh...right, right. whatever you say

*calls 911*

message 2088: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat Am I the only one who has no idea where that came from?

Look at me, my confusion caused me to end that sentence with a preposition.

message 2089: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat I probably would have used "where" but otherwise, yes.

Damn you, Ala.

message 2090: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm sorry?

message 2091: by Stan (new)

Stan (lendondain) | 168 comments A visitor to Harvard was walking around campus looking for the library. After quite some time with no luck, he stopped a student and asked, "Excuse me, where is the library at?" The student was aghast and said, "At Harvard we do not end our sentences with prepositions." The visitor responded, "I'm sorry. Please let me try again. Where is the library at, asshole?"

message 2092: by [deleted user] (new)

Ahahahaha!

Damnit, Stan, almost spit out my coke.

message 2093: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

message 2094: by Nadia (last edited May 10, 2011 03:21PM) (new)

Nadia (nadiacee) Hi everyone. My name is Nadia, I'm 25 and I live in New Jersey. I love to read but always reach a point where I have no idea which author or book to try next. I'm hoping that joining this group will remedy that.

Anyone else from NJ?

message 2095: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat Welcome, Nadia. I think you'll find your problem solved quickly around here.

message 2096: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Bittinger (dougbittinger) | 60 comments Alright, who here is from Jersey?
Come, on just a little applause if you're from Jersey...

(sound of crickets chirping in the dark)

Well, Nadia, all the New Jersians seem to have stepped out for a smoke. But we're glad to have you here!

message 2099: by Stan (new)

Stan (lendondain) | 168 comments Like that ever happens.

message 2100: by [deleted user] (new)
