Hey Everyone, I'm Jon. I'm 31 and live in Knoxville, TN. I work in the medical field and am a total book addict. I read all genres, but Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror are probably my favorites. Some favorites or mine are:
- The Name of the Wind
- The Lord of The Rings
- Dune
- George RR Martin
- The Acacia Trilogy
- Brent Weeks' Night Angel Trilogy
- Joe Abercrombie's Firs Law series
and many others I'm sure.
Anything else you want to know, just ask!

P.K. Dick
Alfred Bester
Robert Heinlein
Frank Herbert
I did enjoy Dan Simmons Hyperion series a few years back and the series about the gods whose title escapes me now.
I also dig Science Fiction movies.
Blade runner and 2001 being the two films I never get tired of watching.
Well more about me as we go along. Have a good 'un as we say in Louisville.

nice to meet you
Ummm hi my name is shayne (im a female even though i have a male's name). i am 13 years old and i live in victoria, melbourne in australia. I love to read, dance, listen to music, hang out with friends and i like to draw anime. My background is maltese and i was born in australia. umm its nice to meet you guys.

I've been re-reading all my Robin Hobb books over the past month and falling back in love with the characters. Now I'm almost done with those, I'm looking forward to reading some NEW authors :D I like Fantasy/Sci-Fi that's super character driven - any recs would be appreciated!

Ah hey! Yes I read Brian Jacques when I was younger, I really enjoyed them. Neil Gaiman I've only read American Gods and Sandman. I enjoyed them but not to the point of obsessing over characters... although I suppose that's an unfair measuring stick of a book ^^ What Gaiman books are your favourites?
I have not read any of that person

I also enjoy comics and graphic novels (classic Deadpool, Watchmen, The Tick; right now I am reading David Petersen's Mouse Guard). I like coffee, gardening, and baking, and I'm currently looking to make some new face-to-face friends in western WA.

Nice to meet you, Shayne. It's great to communicate with someone from Down Under. You must be going into your winter season now.

thanks, i'll check it out! :)

So far this year I've read at least twenty Stephen King novels, Brandon Sanderson, Peter V. Brett, James Herbert, Jeffery Deaver, Lee Child and Celia Friedman to name a few.

Welcome to the group, John! I can empathize with being "under-read." I have a lot of catching up to do, too. Summer is a good time for that.

Hi, Jenny. I hope you enjoy becoming a grandmother! That may not leave you much time for reading, except for reading aloud to your grandchild.
Well, I suppose I should post here. Hi, I'm Beth, 18 years old and hoping to go into a career for comics and graphic novels. That will come later.
Book-wise, I feel like I'm yet another person who is under-read, with plenty of books on my to read list. For genres, I prefer reading fantasy or horror, though I can enjoy a well written book from any genre. I think discussing books in a group will help me understand it better and will give me a well rounded opinion of it.

Hey Beth, I like fantasy and horror but I can't find a good horror book that will scare the hell out of me! Can you recommend anything? And if you like fantasy, check out Enchantment's Deception. It's new...

My name is Alessandra, and I've not been drinking for five days... Joking, joking!! I'm a 19 year old Italian girl, I'm studying Literature at university and I love reading and writing! If you asked me which my favourite author or book is I'd really be quite at a loss, but I guess I could come up with some names, such as Diana Wynne Jones, Tolkien, J.K.Rowling...

You could try the first book in my series, The King of the Trees. It's kind of old-school fantasy, and each book has a glossary/pronunciation guide at the back. There are 7 titles so far in the series.
