Ray Smith | 1 comments Hi, I'm a writer of the following book:

www.goodreads.com/book/show/15717827-...

In the buy options, I have Amazon, Smashwords, and Barnes & Noble, but when I click on the Barnes & Noble link, it goes a page that says, "Sorry, we could not find what you were looking for."

The ISBN of my book is 9780985733209. But it seems B&N has its own # (even though I specifically added my ISBN into the book info) and that B&N # is 2940014989459. Here's the B&N link:

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-j...

How do I get the Goodreads Barnes & Noble button to link to the above? Please help. This is very frustrating.

Thank you.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments A new edition using the BNID (the one that starts with 294) needs to be added.

Working on that now...

ETA: Your new edition is here:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...

This edition, and ONLY this edition, will now link to B&N. The one with ISBN 9780985733209 will not be searchable on B&N. I don't think there is anything that we here can do about that.

Ray Smith | 1 comments Thanks, but this has gotten worse! Now, Goodreads won't link to Amazon and Smashwords because the B&N number is not the same as the ISBN that is used to go to Amazon and Smashwords. Please help!

Ray Smith | 1 comments I would need something that would link 2940014989459 to B&N and the regular ISBN 9780985733209 to Amazon and Smashwords.

Ray Smith | 1 comments Oh, I get it. There are two editions! Actually, forget about it. Nobody buys stuff from B&N anymore anyways. Can you please delete the Nook edition? Since the only difference between the 2 editions is one small line that says "Nook edition," which can be easily overlooked by people who then would think my book is not on Amazon or Smashwords. Thanks.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1568 comments Actually, there are more than two editions...I'm also seeing a paperback edition at Amazon, and a Kindle edition...adding those, now.

(And I shop at B&N all the time!)

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments We would keep both editions they are both valid. In addition those buy links are customizable by user NOT author or book so if they link to amazon or BN is irrrelevant to some users?

Ray Smith | 1 comments Whoa, this is getting a bit weird. But then I saw Stephen King's 11/22/63 has like 40+ editions. I guess that's how you gals at Goodreads roll so it's all good. Thanks for your help, and I apologize if there's been a misunderstanding (i.e., I thought each book would only have 1 edition).
