I do often find people's choice of attire perplexing. I sometimes wonder if they don't own a mirror. Especially little chubby girls like me. Do they not realize that chub is spilling over their too tight trousers? Do they not understand that tucking in one's shirt accentuates the chubbiness rather than camouflaging? Does that dude know he looks like a freak of nature in that particular swimming costume? Is that the idea?

i came across this photo a couple weeks ago on tumblr and felt a lot of WTF. i laughed; an uncomfortable laugh. then i forgot about it. now it is back, creating a lot of tension within my Orange County wing of Facebook friends, after someone posted it and commented on how they thought it was hilarious. some folks laughed & liked. others got pissed off that those folks laughed & liked. i'm not sure where i stand. fortunately, since i don't particularly care for many of my OC friends due to their reactionary politics, i really don't have to wade in or bother taking a side.

i'm not asking for an opinion. nor do i have one myself. i don't recall if the tumblr photo that i saw had any context. the facebook post certainly didn't, just the photo posted and i think a caption of "Hilarious!". then some likes. then some hell broke loose with lots of accusations of racism. i haven't really seen anything like this kind of heat on FB, at least not with anyone i know. not til now! an interesting but rather tedious form of heat.

I had both questions LG had. I am not getting racism from this picture but there could be so much more going on.No, my first response was do they know each other, does he smell, if they don't know each other then who is standing by taking a picture while a stranger grabs their friend?
scratch that, it worked after i stopped being an idiot. unfortunately the only thing that came up was how that photo has been posted on websites like Bad Party Pics and Epic Fail etc. perhaps there was more info on other pages but i got bored looking.
