Thanks for putting this up so quickly, Mary!
Jason, it will be great to have you with us. Plenty of time!

I've not read this yet, so this is the perfect incentive for me to pluck this out from lower down on my TBR!

Thanks for the link, I started up a new thread for translation discussions ;)

Thanks, Mary and MB! I'm doing some research on translations now, and I hope group members who may have already read M&M or who have other friends who have will pipe up with recommendations on the translation thread, too.

Thanks for the invite, Kris and Mary!

Maybe if we offer tofu and a cat?

There is no Kindle version for this, unfortunately, my friend. I already checked. :)

In a pitcher, mix:
1 frozen canister of Minute Maid Limeade
1 12 oz mexican beer, Like Sol or Pacifica.
1/2 to 1 full limeade canister equivalent of tequila, depending on your personal tequila tolerance (midshelf works best)
Lemon/Lime soda to taste.
Pour over ice in a salt rimmed glass. Drink while reading.

I just follow Mary; she knows where all da cool people at.

This is one of those that I've been meaning to read for awhile, so I'm looking forward to it now! Good books are always better when you can discuss them with good people.

Uck - too sweet for my tastes. Besides, who needs all that sugar when you can just fill a margarita glass with straight whiskey?

But then why use a margarita glass? I find that kitchen water glasses are ideal for whisky drunks.
I myownself need sweetness when tequila's involved, after the memorable Night of Eleven Mexican Snowshoes.

I find that adding a glass to the whiskey drink not only impedes the efficiency of whiskey consumption on the front end, but also on the back end, when you have to pick up the broken shards of your glass off of the floor. Bottles are easier to hold, have a much greater whiskey in mouth:whiskey on shirtfront ratio, and, when you pass out in a puddle of your own tears on your kitchen floor, do not break quite as easily.
Frozen lime-aide is not terribly sweet, and the lemon lime soda is easily replaced with lemon/lime seltzer water, which is also pleasing and refreshing.

I just wanted to be part of the group... **sniff**

Kate, I think I'll substitute bitter lemon or tonic. Probably bitter lemon.

And boobz.

And boobz."
I 2nd that!

oooh .. . the bitter lemon sounds awesome. I am also anti-margarita glass, myself.

Nothing but old jam jars in my cabinet, I'm afraid. I seem to recall a few champagne flutes sharing that space for a while, around the time I got married, but it didn't take long for the jars to gang up on them.

I have a friend who actually made these as a summer job when he was in college: http://www.partywiththis.com/Beer-Can... (I'm not sure how he listed the job on his resumé.)
Note that you could drink your refreshing alcoholic beverage of choice (two servings at a time) while leaving your hands free to hold your book, turn pages, etc. And imagine how erudite you would look!

Damn it, I was actually going to say that, too. The one time I keep mum about my mammary love....
But yes. Raise it up for the tittaaaaays.

Mayhaps it moved to another boobshelf?

For a while, the intro posts were coming so quickly that it was impossible for me to reply to them without filling up this thread with replies. I just want to thank everyone for joining the group! I'm so glad to see so many friends here, and I am looking forward to exploring The Master and Margarita (and drink recipes, etc.) with you all.

Given my terrible track record for group reads, I can't make any promises on this one, but I've been quite interested in this book for a while, ever since s.penke reviewed it. Thanks for the invite.
