Jzhunagev,
No need to second Jenni, if you read my post up above. The fact that a non fiction book has not been picked is simply based on the majority vote. Plenty of non-fiction books have been put the nomination process, however the majority vote has never been in favor of one.

I am not going to make a practice of creating a seperate poll just to force a non fiction book in.

d4 The History of Love A Novel - Nicole Krauss

I'm assuming Category 2. I haven't read it yet.

message 65: by Jamie (new)

Jamie You are correct, Jamie. Each member is only allowed to nominate one book, not one book per category. Also, books do not need to be seconded. For anyone who isn't sure about what to do, Lori has explained all of this in the first post of this topic.

In the future, I will stand by my word, and those members who fail to follow the rules will not have their posts accepted.

I state the rules clearly at the begining of each nomination thread. I post these rules expecting that everyone will follow them, they are put in place to make this process as simple and easy for me as possible.

Thanks to those who nominated.

I will be posting the polls shortly. When they are up and ready, I will create a thread for voting. Please be sure to read the rules before voting,
thanks!

Lori, I think the Irish idea is great! Even before coming to live in ireland I always thought about st patrick's day during that month. I know it is very important for Irish people, in and out of Ireland! Hope we do this.

Lori (tnbbc) | 10620 comments Mod
I know Jeane, I was just a bit grumpy. I thought we were finally going to have one smooth nomination round with no boo-boo's. Oh well!

I just wish people would READ the opening post before they jump in and make me nuts.

All in a days work, tho!
I thank you all for putting up with me.

message 79: by Kandice (new)

Kandice We thank you wholeheartedly for giving us a safe, organized place to discuss, rant and otherwise blather on about our books! (among other things)

message 82: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Angela, I'm with you. When I see a nomination that is clearly not following the rules it bothers me, and I'm not even running the voting! It's really not a hard process.

I am really sorry Lori! I did read the opening post, but being "new" and getting caught-up with all the great things here at GR, I lost track of time. I promise I will me more careful in the future. Again, I am really sorry to add stress to your day! Thanks for doing a fine job running the monthly "all read?"
