I'll do a reread of Starters, a reread of Ender's Game, and I have Timebound on my Kindle app. :)

I would do Starters, Unraveling, Timebound, and Incarnate (those would all be rereads)

I would love to read Poison Princess and Ender's Game as well!

So all of us said Timebound, should we do that one next?

Awesome, yes! Let's do Timebound next since all four of us (Holly, Jenny, Karen and me) are up for it, and then we can split up and do the rest in twos and threes :)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments Talk about convenient! I'm 81% of the way thru Timebound on my Kindle! I'm in!

P.S. I've read Starters in print, but recently got it on audio and I'll be up for listening to it as a re-read. Also would love to do Incarnate. Or Poison Princess.

Perfect! I'll join you for all of those :)

message 763: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments Also - whenever we're finished with those, can we do Crewel and then Altered by Gennifer Albin? I want to re-read Crewel before I start in earnest on Altered. All the better to do it with my buds.

message 764: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
I will do Crewel, Jen, I have it in hardback! And then if I like it (I'm sure I prolly will!) I'll do Altered too!!

And Karen, Erased (Altered, #2) by Jennifer Rush comes out next week, so we'll have to get to that one soon!! :)

Love this! Buddy reads are the BEST THING EVER!!

And, yeah, Erased!!

Double agreed!

message 770: by Peter (new)

Peter Stone (sevensidedcube) Hugely looking forward to 'Into the Still Blue' too. And I hope the ending will be more satisfying than 'Allegiant' was. (And I'm not referring to a particular facet of the ending - the book disappointed me on many levels.)

message 771: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

I agree, Peter! I have high hopes for Into the Still Blue!

message 772: by Peter (new)

Peter Stone (sevensidedcube) I know, right? I had such high hopes for the divergents when they emerged. I thought they would find the smouldering ruins of a world that would perish without their leadership, yet apart from wandering around in circles in the HQ, they didn't really do anything, didn't even seem needed.

Taja (taozi) Does anyone want to read any of these this month? :)

The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King , WWW Wake (WWW, #1) by Robert J. Sawyer , The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner

(I'm jumping on the maze runner bandwagon a bit late haha)

Peter wrote: "I know, right? I had such high hopes for the divergents when they emerged. I thought they would find the smouldering ruins of a world that would perish without their leadership, yet apart from wand..."

Yes, that was very irritating. And parts of the book were so boring...a lot of it made no sense! Then there was Champion by Marie Lu...now THAT is the way to end an amazing dystopian series! Loved the Legend trilogy all the way through!!

So glad you are joining us for Into the Still Blue! I have a feeling it will be a very well participated in buddy read!

message 778: by Peter (new)

Peter Stone (sevensidedcube) Hi Jenny,

And important scenes like the death serum were over in a page. The scenes with the serums in the first novels, like when Four took her in to see what troubled him, were long and suspenseful. It's like Roth was just trying to wrap it up as soon as she could and be done with it.

message 779: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
I got the feeling the book was rushed as well, Peter. Not sure if that was from the publisher side or Roth's. Oh, well, its over now. I have a different version in my head, and I will pretend that's what really happened! lol

I'd like to just jump in here and note that the last several pages (view spoiler) were just one big long (view spoiler)? That's what ruined it for me.

message 784: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments So what's up next? We talked about all of these - which would you like and when?

Starters (Starters, #1) by Lissa Price Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

also, I'm still working on Tandem (Many-Worlds, #1) by Anna Jarzab which is really good! It's about alternate universes, political intrigue, a possible romance (but so far only the hint of one), and kidnapping.

Pretty good stuff. It's taking me awhile to get thru, though, so I'd be up for a buddy read and a discussion of it.

message 786: by Tanya (new)

Tanya (bookaholic22) | 176 comments @Book. A buddy read is when two people or a group of people read one book at the same time and talk about it. You can also give motivation to others so they can read more than what they usually read.

Does that answer your question?
