Live event - post-event drinks party
Funny. I was just thinking of cutting the corner off the tetra pack of wine I bought earlier.Who'd like to join me?
....I smell oranges....
Can I have a Slow Comfortable Screw Against a Wall please...if we haven't got that I'll have a Sex on the Beach?
Not funny guys, but my Internet hub has packed up tonight.... Thank goodness I still have the mobile hub thingy... But it's the second time I get Internet problems close to a live event... I'm doomed !

Yes Simon, do tell...
I've been preparing myself. Resting body and mind and warming up my fingers in the hope of keeping up. I'm sure all I'll have a glass of wine at my elbow later so don't expect to get much sense out of me after the first hour (maybe less).
OK, I'm closing this one until we have done it.remember you can get the best out of our clunky chat by clicking the 'newest' link and then refreshing the page regularly

Just popped out to fetch the washing in and find I missed the end! Thanks Steve and Lorraine for such an interesting evening. Now, can I have a nightcap? Have to go to bed early because I'm up at sparrow fart tomorrow
Could have done with goodreads playing up, swore quite a few times, lucky the little one was in bed :)
I'm only 3/4 of the way reading through but wow what a great evening!I know Steve's books have certainly got me very interested in my family history.
It's also so great knowing we can always pop into Steve's thread and have a great conversation about all sorts. :)

Sweets, you're FABULOUS,
You guys are awesome. That was great. It went so fast. All a blur really. I so needed a wee towards the end!
Lol!I just sent Simon a private message full of swears. Teehee.
He liked it. Just said I'm charming.
Steve, congratulations on a brilliant live chat. I hope it was the first of many in our group. :)

Patti, looks like we have a few other authors lined up... Got work until my holidays, so will start organising things upon my return :) That's if I can leave it until then :)
Sweets. That's great to hear! I'm so pleased that there is good interest as the live events are obviously well attended.Of course you can leave it until after your holiday!
If there is anything Simon or I can do to help, please just shout. I'm sure other groupites would be more than happy to lend a hand as well.
Shared joy is increased. :)
Morning everyone!Oh sorry, wrong thread! Hope you all had a good time - sorry I wasn't able to attend. I'll go and read the gory details now. Back in a bit :)
Just got back from The King's Head having been cornered by boring Bob who was insisting I go round his house so he could confirm for me the surname of someone called Matt who was in the original line-up of Squeeze!
I certainly would! Boring Bob has taught me stuff about Frank Zappa that I will be spending most of the night contemplating!

I saw Hawkwind live once.
I'll be putting all the names in my ski hat later today and will post the winner in this thread and my author thread. I'm ordering books at the end of the week and it will be sent out as soon as I have them.

I'll tell Dave when he gets home. He'll be lime green with envy.

I remember it well. Because I haven't seen many live concerts.
Lindisfarne.
T Rex.
Freddie & the Dreamers (that was a disappointment, he was my hero but he wouldn't shake hands with me.)

I've only seen a few live concerts too Janet.I reckon that's why my hearing is so good and Dave's isn't. Or he's just really good at ignoring me...

Steve will chat with us on Tuesday 24th of July, for our next live event. This will be a great opportunity for all of you to ask him any question you might have about his books and his writing. The updates on his author thread have made us feel involved with the building of the cabin, the writing and even the pushing of the “Publish” button, but surely there’s still something you’re dying to ask him ?
Whether you want to participate or simply lurk, you are all welcome. Chat will start at 7.30 pm UK time. See you there !
***IMPORTANT NEWS***
Steve has kindly offered to send a copy to one of the members that will participate in the live event. Any member who asks a question will be entered in a draw to win a copy of To The Grave. Draw is expected at the end of the month, when the final copy is approved.
Come along here for a drink and a chat before the event starts at 7:30 on Tuesday 24th July 2012
