Melanie I haven't made it past the first 100 pages. Yet. So far I'm liking what I'm reading. More profound thoughts to come. Maybe.

Allison (allie701) | 3 comments I've read about half so far. This would have made a good article in Fast Company of an online education publication. After his introduction, he really hasn't said anything new. Even the enhancements are redundant.

Melanie I'm on page 99 of 270 (or 36% in according to Kindle). I'm enjoying the book so far. I'm really having a good time meeting the men and women Wagner interviewed. Just finished learning about Jamien's experiences. One of my favorite passages is a quote from David. He says (about the school he wants to build in Sierra Leone), "I wanted to build a school--a place where kids come and don't think it's a school--a place you want to come to every day, where your day is about feeling your presence in the world, knowing that you control who you are, that you can influence others, but at the same time you are not different or removed from everybody else."

I'm also thinking about Jodie, Jamie, David, and Kirk's desire to give back. As a parent, I'm curious about how to foster that. I'd like my child to be interested in supporting his community out of intrinsic motivation, not because he has to meet a community service requirement. Stuff to think about.

Allison (allie701) | 3 comments I recently got my Brown u. Alumni magazine and the cover story consisted of profiles of some of this Year's graduates all doing the same sort of creative innovating. It could have been lifted from the pages of,our book. To read the article, The Learning Life, follow, this link: http://www.brownalumnimagazine.com/co...
