when the the description and the authors website say they are stand alone? If so, they need a title fix and the librarian needs to be corrected about series creation.

Edit: I have looked into it more and although they say they can stand alone, on the main page it does mention they are connected. Some of the books are mentioned with a series name, while the ones that can stand alone are not listed with a series name.

If someone with more series experience could deal with these.

Banjomike | 5166 comments I've always thought that the GR series links provide an excellent way of finding a list of books that are connected to a book you already know about. Even if the author says they are stand alone I would still keep a series page, assuming that there is SOME SORT of connection.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Books can be related in a series and still be read separately, in which case it's good for the series description and the book descriptions to say so and for the series to not be numbered (I'd suggest sorting in publication order on the page or, for nonfiction series of this sort, alphabetically by title), so this series looks fine on that account.

However, "Connected Books" is not a good series name. If the author hasn't suggested one, does someone familiar with the books have a better suggestion for a series name?

Krystal109 | 1086 comments Based on the description it seems like the series are connected through a set or brothers or a set of sisters... so something involving that may be useful. I will see if I can find more and name them better and organize them correctly.

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 363 comments I agree that Penguin Lives seems to be more like an imprint than a series, but imo we should pretend we didn't see this, and not break it. 'nothing to see here; moving along....'

Why, if it's not a series? It could be turned into a Listopia.

@Lobstergirl, please don't resurrect these old threads. There are much more recent ones on the same topic.

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 363 comments I didn't think of turning it into a Listopia. That probably is best, after all.
