I love that series Elisa. I'm going to be sad to see it go. I have been waiting on the hold list at the library for a while.

Re-reading City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare as a buddy read and just started listening to Pure (Pure, #1) by Julianna Baggott from my elibrary. Pure is freaky so far!

Steph is: Pageturning578 (stephw1991) Thinking about re-reading City of Bones and starting Beautiful Darkness =)

apparently I'm on a paranormal kick =)

What did you think of Before I Fall DeAnna?

Steph is: Pageturning578 (stephw1991) David wrote: "Lol I love when I get on a kick ;) Right now it's definitely dystopian, can't get enough!"

I'm kinda on a kick of two different genres right now because sometimes there are only so many witches and crazy things I can handle. I would say I'm also on a dystopian kick as well =)

I liked it a lot, though the MC/narrator was a total b in the beginning. The ending wasn't what I expected, so I'm still trying to figure out my thoughts on that one.

I've been on a dystopian/apocalyptic kick for decades! ;-P Maybe since I read 1984 in junior high school.

Does anyone know how long the dystopian genera has been around I only just recently got into it because of Hunger Games...

Animal Farm & 1984 were written in 1949 so the genre's been around since then, Stephanie. I think Hunger Games made it wildly popular, though,!

I've read all 3 of them, I think all in high school.

It's a little bit Groundhogs Day with the same day happening again and again which can get annoying. But the writing is excellent, the characters are well developed and overall I liked it :) You should definitely give it a shot!

I'd recommend it on audio! I just listened to the whole thing from Wed night until tomorrow. I pretty much did no other reading until I finished it. It was really good!

I want to read School Spirits also. I loved the Hex Hall trilogy. Such a quick fun read.

Heidi | 2372 comments Loved Hex Hall too - need to read School Spirits!

As I noted yesterday I thought Before I Fall could have been a lot better -- to me it was too repetitive and no one to really care about. I will second the audiobook though because Sarah Drew is my girl!

I finished School Spirits and it was really good. I didn't like it quite as much as Hex Hall, but I still had fun reading it!

I.Finished.It.

It was beautiful, the ending was just perfect. One of the best endings ever in a series! I'm going to be thinking on this one for awhile!

Yeah, I loved the series, but the third book was not my favorite. I was kind of nervous about reading the 4th and final book, because I didn't like the way things had gone...but the 4th book was really good! The entire thing--and the ending was beautiful, like I said!

What type of books do you like (dystopian, paranormal, realistic, steam punk, etc...)

Steph is: Pageturning578 (stephw1991) Heidi I've been reading a lot of paranormal and dystopian lately. I'm planning on stepping away. From paranormal for a while once I finish the beautiful creatures series.

Heidi | 2372 comments YA Paranormal is actually my least favorite genre - the only YA paranormal series I liked was Hex Hall. Strangely I don't mind adult paranormal as much - I loved the first 8 or 9 Black Dagger Brotherhood books, as well as the Fever and Kate Daniels series. Anywho my favorite ever YA books are The Book Thief The Book Thief by Markus Zusak On the Jellicoe Road On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta and The Knife of Never Letting Go The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness - have you read any of those?? If not, I don't think you can go wrong with them.
