I am now reading the 4th book in Hugh Howey's Molly Fyde series. It's a decent series, although the first book was my favorite :)

I loved the first third and last third of that book, but not the middle third. My favorite of the series was the second book, although the third book was also really good :)

It's a kid's book, but one that doesn't feel like a typical kid's book. I can see why it was popular when it came out.

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments Will do @david!!! I'm so excited to read Salt To The Sea!! I'm about 20 pages in! I also bought Between Shades of Gray by Ruta!!

Hi everyone!!!! *waves* I'm back from my wonderful trip to Arizona! I'll tell everyone about the festival on the "author meets" thread!

While there I finished reading Walk on Earth a Stranger (The Gold Seer Trilogy, #1) by Rae Carson which I LOVED (and got signed by Rae!!)

Today on the plane home I finished Storm Fall (Rebel Wing, #2) by Tracy Banghart which was a fun, quick, action-packed read! Really good sequel.

No idea what I'm reading next!

Still working on my reread of Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare and my eARC from NetGalley of Alight (The Generations Trilogy, #2) by Scott Sigler !

After I hugged the kids and cuddled the cat and got to sleep in my own bed...this morning I woke up kind of depressed. I want to go back to Arizona already!

The description of Rae's new book sounds interesting, but it's not really enticing enough to make me want to read it. Do you think I would like it? I did enjoy her fantasy series, but this one sounds quite different (which could be a good or bad thing) :)

Its very different, but in a lot of ways I liked it even more! It was one of Karen's fave books she read last year, too.

The fantasy part of it is pretty minimal, its much more a historical fiction read. I'm really interested in the pioneers and the wagon trains and things like that, so I absolutely LOVED it. Its a much faster pace, too, than her fantasy, there's lots happening all the time. The MC is awesome, and it has some pretty unique characters, both good and bad. I think you would like it, but definitely go into it with the expectation that its very different from Girl of Fire and Thorns.
