The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje The English Patient which was a very unique writing style. It was a 3.5 star read for me. I definitely love the move more. The movie had better flow, but I enjoyed the characters of Kip and Hana more in the book. The English patient and his love for Katharine are MUCH better portrayed in the movie. With that being said, there were still a lot of beautiful parts of the book and it is something that should definitely be read in one's lifetime. it has a unique way of showing the flitting thoughts of passion, obsession, adoration, morphine haze, desperation, etc.

STILL READING

About halfway through Awoken (The Lucidites, #1) by Sarah Noffke Awoken for the group read which is an enjoyable read thus far.

Also reading Token Huntress by Kia Carrington-Russell Token Huntress for my pen pal read! Great intro.

Just started The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby The Diving Bell and the Butterfly as it is one of those books I had never gotten around to reading.

Yes, it's the audiobook. I've got the paperback at home but I'm really loving the audio. Hopefully I'll be able to jump right back on it after I finish Magic Bites -- that's audio too. The Help is such a great story, and I think one that really deserves to be told. People always think we've come such a long way from slavery and racism, but racism remains alive and well and it sickens me.

Finished Biggest Flirts (Superlatives, #1) by Jennifer Echols
3.5 stars

Even though our MC was a train wreck, I actually grew very fond of Tia and her sarcastic humor. I really liked Will. The teen flirting and romance as times made me roll my eyes a bit, but it was cute and funny! I wish there had been more with her Dad, or any parent really...all these teenagers just roaming around parent-free didn't seem realistic. Also, FYI, this is OLDER YA, as some of the sex scenes get a bit graphic, and there's lots of smoking, booze, and drugs throughout.

Next is my last PIFM book, The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman, #1) by Paullina Simons

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments I found an author I like, Jason D Morrow. I am reading one of his series, well actually started another by him too. Read Anywhere But Here (The Starborn Ascension #1) by Jason D. Morrow am reading Away From The Sun (The Starborn Ascension #2) by Jason D. Morrow and then Into The Shadows (The Starborn Ascension Book 3) by Jason D. Morrow
I am listening to The Deliverer (The Marenon Chronicles, #1) by Jason D. Morrow , then The Gatekeeper (The Marenon Chronicles, #2) by Jason D. Morrow then The Reckoning (The Marenon Chronicles, #3) by Jason D. Morrow

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments I'm not quite sure what to do with my heart after finishing Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. It was so good, definitely a contender for favorite 2016 read!

I feel like I need to read a completely different genre to pull me out of my severe book hangover. I'm debating between starting The Raven Boys or starting my re-read of Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight so I can finish Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Between not having much reading time while I was away, and spending most of the time since I got back alternating between sleeping and attempting to catch up with things, I've read very little in the past week and a half.

I started listening to the audio version of Death's Heretic on my computer before I left, and have listened to some since I got back, but haven't quite finnished it yet.

I also started Jason and Lily before I left, but since that was on my Kindle I was able to take it with me. I finnished it the night before travelling home, and then started Elegy, which I haven't had a chance to finnish yet.

I've read Unwind at least 3 times! The audio reread was really incredible! That one scene is completely different the way he narrates! At least for me anyway,

Awoken (The Lucidites, #1) by Sarah Noffke Awoken which was a great start to a new series. I would have liked to feel a bit more for some of the characters, but it was so enjoyable to read that it was still worth of 5 stars for me. I can't wait to read more about the Lucidites, and I love the twists and the ending.

Also finished The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby The Diving Bell and the Butterfly as it is one of those books I had never gotten around to reading. I'm so glad that I was finally able to read this. The implications of the amount of work that had to go into this are insane. Everyone should read this at least once. I love the wit of the man. 4 Stars

STILL READING
Token Huntress by Kia Carrington-Russell Token Huntress for my pen pal read! Great intro.

The Fairy Boy of Calton Hill by Sean-Paul Thomas The Fairy Boy of Calton Hill for my read & Review and it started out well. There is a bit of different lingo being written by a Scottish author, but I have found that if I envision a Scottish accent (such as Sean Connery) when I read it that it makes the flow seamless.

Just started
One Child The Story of China's Most Radical Experiment by Mei Fong One Child: The Story of China's Most Radical Experiment which I am very excited about.

Also started Autobiography of a Geisha by Sayo Masuda Autobiography of a Geisha to continue on with my Asian/Geisha theme of late ;)
