Yeah I did read that a few years ago ... It didn't leave much of an impression on me. :P

Angie~ Faery of Weirdness (angiegoddessofweirdness) | 12 comments I just re-tried reading Shadowlands by Kate Brian (the first try was a fail, lost interest imediately) And now for some reason, I'm loving it. I can't believe I was actual that quick to even judge the book- oh wells. As long as I'm loving it now:)XDD

This will sound silly, but I'm really nervous to read this one. I just have such high expectations for it, and I will be so disappointed if its not as good as the last two books. Normally I try to go into books with little or no expectations...I hate it when this happens! LOL

Hey! I just want to say that I think you should consider being cautious about this book -I mean, most reviews that I read about it before reading the book were generally negative so I had mixed feelings about it. Once I read it, I thought that it was one of the best books I had ever read, but I still had that underlying thought in the back of my mind repeating to me that this book was so predictable. But, yeah although you might not read this comment, I think checking it out and reading it would be worth it to discuss afterwards whether you think it's horrible or fantastic. Hope this comment sorrrrrttt of helps:)

Yeah, I spent Saturday pretty much doing nothing but reading, so managed to get an entire book read that day. I'm not very far through the third book yet though, because I didn't read much yesterday (Sunday) and it's still early in the day on Monday. Anyway, I hope you enjoy book two when you read it.

I'm still reading it, too! And I agree––I was nervous I would have forgotten everything that happened in Cress since I read it a long time ago, but it came back to me pretty easily and the story sucked me right back in. :) I forgot there was a buddy-read thread ... I will also have to check that out when I'm done reading it!

I'm super excited too, Donna!! Even though I've read it :) Its a really wonderful book, a little different than David's other works, but a good kind of different :) It still has the same themes, and the wonderful Sci-Fi element he writes so well, along with very interesting and cool characters!

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments I just finished my ARC of A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab. It was so damn incredible. I love this series. I can't wait for this book to release on February 23rd so the world can enjoy it too! I'll be rereading it as soon as I get my hands on the hardcover copy. Highly recommend this series.

Now I'll be reading the Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I have a bit of unhappy history with book one. I read it a long time ago and I wasn't at all a fan and I never finished the trilogy. Then I read Six of Crows and holy crap did I love that book. It helped me see the error of my ways with the trilogy. So I'm jumping in once more. And I'm really excited to read it. We all make mistakes in our past, right? Lol

I finished my reread of Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer , so good! Also finished Dream a Little Dream (The Silver Trilogy, #1) by Kerstin Gier and I really liked this one. I love books about dreams and dreaming, and this one had a nice creepy factor. Fun, quick read!

Also finished The Eve (The Eden Trilogy, #3) by Keary Taylor and really liked the conclusion to the series. I don't know what it is about this trilogy, but I really really like it, its a good dystopian world.

Right now doing a reread of Bone Gap by Laura Ruby (LOVE!) and reading Improbable Libraries A Visual Journey to the World's Most Unusual Libraries by Alex Johnson which is a fun and interesting read. Also doing a reread of Strings by David Estes Can't wait for the launch party for this one!!

Going to start Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, #1) by Seth Grahame-Smith and A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas next.

Going to hijack the thread for a minute--look at THIS!!!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling

Publishing details are a bit uncertain, but it DOES look like it will be published! The EIGHTH Harry Potter book!!

This is a play JK Rowling wrote centering around Harry's youngest son, Albus, nineteen years after the series ended. It will open in June in London. This book will be a published screenplay of it.

I'M SO FLIPPIN EXCITED!!!!!!

Oh awesome! I need to reread the Kel books soon, and get to the last Daine book -- I started a Daine reread a year or so ago and still need to finish lol.

I'm rereading Trickster's Choice (Daughter of the Lioness, #1) by Tamora Pierce right now and really enjoying it, I haven't read the Aly books in 5-10 years.

I tried reading the Daine books a few months ago but didn't get past the first book. Sometimes I reread them too often and then they lose some of the magic. :(

The Daughter of the Lioness series is probably my least favourite of her series for some reason. I do like Nawat and Aly together. And I like many of the elements but for some reason it didn't have the spark from the others books I liked. Still a solid 3-4 star book, just not that extra star I would like. :/

I think that happens to me with HP, because I basically have the books memorized so I have to have nearly two years or so between rereads, otherwise I find myself getting bored.

Honestly, right now I couldn't pick a favorite among Tammy's lead girls. I remember not liking the Aly books when I first read them, and now I'm asking myself why that was because I'm really enjoying this.

I'm hoping the play is wildly successful, and it goes on tour here in the states, and comes close enough to me that I can go see it!!

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments I'm currently finishing up Dominic (Slater Brothers, #1) by L.A. Casey . It is an NA romance as in February me and two of my bookstagram friends are reading NA romance all month. This book has the most cussing I've ever read in a book, which is a total turnoff, but the characters have made me laugh and have kind of grown on me!
