Ackkkk, got to Part 3 of Seveneves by Neal Stephenson . I'm blown away and have been thinking about it all day at work. If I thought I could have gotten away with it, I seriously contemplated taking a mental health day so I could finish it!

Guess what I'll be doing all evening?? ;)

Brittany McCann (brittanylmccann) | 105 comments Finished The Boundaries of Desire: A Century of Good Sex, Bad Laws, and Changing Identities The Boundaries of Desire A Century of Good Sex, Bad Laws, and Changing Identities by Eric Berkowitz which I award 3 stars, got very dry in some sections, also finished The Dogs of Christmas The Dogs of Christmas by W. Bruce Cameron which was very adorable, 4 stars.

Still Reading Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things Furiously Happy A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson which is hilariously eye opening and at work I am now reading The Pentagon's Brain: An Uncensored History of DARPA, America's Top-Secret Military Research Agency The Pentagon's Brain An Uncensored History of DARPA, America's Top-Secret Military Research Agency by Annie Jacobsen which is very interesting, highly recommend already and on Kindle just started Hell On Heels Hell On Heels (Southern Seductions, #3) by J.A. Coffey which is the 3rd book in a great trilogy that I have immensely enjoyed, and this one started off great as well!

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Hi! I'm back!
Life got really busy over the last month, with university applications and school life, and I didn't have any time to read.
I'm picking books back up though, and I read Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman (half of which I had read before the New Year) this week.
It was weird finishing a book about a month after I had first picked it up, but I enjoyed the read. Review to come, maybe.

Finished After Alice by Gregory Maguire 3.5 stars

I didn't get into this one as much as Maguire's other books, which was a shame, because I'm a big fan of his writing! It felt a bit disjointed. I really enjoyed the Wonderland parts, and the concept was great, I just felt taken out of the story at about every chapter break.

Rachel E. Carter (rachelcarterauthor) So if you guys want to snag a cheap read, Apprentice (The Black Mage, #2) by Rachel E. Carter just went on sale -it's the second book in my The Black Mage series and there is also a GR Giveaway going on for it. >> if this is inappropriate to post in here feel free to comment and I will delete this post right away <3 I just figured I'd let your group know since a while back I gave out R2R copies of First Year (The Black Mage, #1) by Rachel E. Carter and a lot of people were asking if I had review copies of B2 avail.

PS I'm currently finishing up the amazing Horde (Razorland, #3) by Ann Aguirre , I don't even like zombies and horror but this series is incredible! My next read is Truthwitch (The Witchlands, #1) by Susan Dennard and Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2) by Victoria Aveyard <3

I feel like everyone on the planet has read Truthwitch but me!!! Glass Sword I'm sooooo reading release day. I'm holding out hope beyond hope it's not second book syndrome with no action until very, very end. I loved the first so much (and was secretly, well, not soooo secretly, rooting for Maven & Mare and I still kinda am). I can't wait to see where Victoria takes it!

Don't feel bad Rachel I haven't read it yet so you are not alone. :) I pre-ordered Glass Sword so when it gets released I can stare outside waiting for it to arrive. I think it ends in a cliffhanger so we will all die a little bit together waiting for the third book. I don't know what team I am on anymore. I was destroyed by the huge reveal so I will figure out when I re-read it. haha

You are rereading RQ? Oh man that last third was so emotional. I suspected what happened but mannnnnn Victoria still managed to play it just right. I still felt shocked to the core when he played the Joffrey-Cersei card and that ending battle in the arena? And all of his quotes? That's the thing I loved most about that book. Victoria made every sentence feel epic and they could all be tag lines for a book. >>> and oh gosh, you just know there will be a cliffhanger!

message 16141: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I will be re-reading Red Queen with my Goodreads group or by myself. I forgot too much of the story to be able to go straight into Glass Sword. I do remember while I was reading, right before the big reveal, I was thinking that I hope I was wrong about him. I was proven wrong in a very epic way. The story is so epic. I was basically a wreck after reading this...in the best way though. :)
