I am going to be right behind you for both books. I am hoping my experience with Illuminae is improved with the audiobook performance because it is a long one and I would hate to invest a lot of time without a pay off!

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments I'm interested to see how you feel about Illuminae, Heidi! I had mixed feelings about it, but I hope the audiobook is good. :) It's worth looking at a physical copy of it at some point if you get a chance––the layout is very interesting and it was visually appealing.

I actually thought it was a historical fiction that took place in the Victorian Era because I didn't read the description just looked at the original cover. I like it so far. I had to stop reading way before I went to bed because I was worried I would have nightmares or something. lol

I finished The Iron Warrior (The Iron Fey Call of the Forgotten, #3) by Julie Kagawa and it was a good finale to the series! I started reading this series years ago, so I got a bit nostalgic at the end, especially when Puck and Ash were fighting together again!

Right now I'm listening to Earth & Sky (Earth & Sky, #1) by Megan Crewe on audio and its good so far.
Still reading Erebos by Ursula Poznanski , which is very good, and going to be starting After Alice by Gregory Maguire soon.

Also reading House of Pawns (House of Royals #2) by Keary Taylor in ebook.

I'm reading Need by Joelle Charbonneau . Here's my take: The reason this book has such mixed reviews is that the dialogue is cheesy and unrealistic and the characters, though somewhat complex, aren't very likeable. HOWEVER, I think the concept is brilliant and I'm very interested to see what happens next! So in some ways it's a really compelling book! I'm halfway done, hoping for a suspenseful ending!!

I'm about halfway through both Seveneves by Neal Stephenson and the expanded version of The Stand by Stephen King . I don't know what made me decide to tackle 2 huge books at the same time!! :)

I've been reading Seveneves ALL day but have to put it down occasionally because the hardcore science gives me headaches and makes my eyes cross! Hahahah.. but it's sooooo intriguing, I have to pick it back up soon after. Bestie Jen told me the sciencey parts are worth it, especially once I get to part 3! I trust her! And I really love the story. It feels like the story of The 100, IF the author ever decided to do a prequel of what happened that caused the survivors to go to space.
