I'd had them for quite a while before I read them too... It was some time in 2014 I read them, but I'd been meaning to read them since my Dad mentioned them to me when I was a teenager (so a good dozen years before).

Well, I did start Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and this one is loads better than the first 2, I can tell already.

Also started Ten Thousand Skies Above You (Firebird, #2) by Claudia Gray and its really good so far, even with a few AWKWARD moments!

Thanks for the recommendation, Kate! I love Maas's Throne of Glass series. Does A Court of Thorns and Roses have a ton of romance in it? I was avoiding it for that reason LOL

As far as The Testing series goes, I highly recommend it. I really LOVED it, just as much as The Hunger Games :)

Not Kate here David but I wouldn't say a Court of Thorns and Roses was 100% romance driven but it was the underlying focus of the second half. I gave the book a solid 3 stars because of some issues I had with it but it was entertaining. I think if you were a fan of Daughter of Smoke & Bone (3 stars for me as well) or similar books you would enjoy it.

I finished Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer this morning and although it seemed a bit longer in parts then it needed to be (over 800 pages!), I loved it! I was very satisfied with the ending of the Lunar Chronicles!

I have just started on The Stand by Stephen King which is a millionth reread for me. Ok, not a million, but I lost count of how many times I've read it. ;) I killed my original copy from reading it so often. I haven't reread it since the mini-series came out and I haven't read the extended version, so parts of it will be new to me. It's a freaking long book (over 1300 pages / 47 hours!!) so I'll be at this one for awhile. I'm 3% in and it already feels like a very old friend! :-D

I finished The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #3) by Michelle Hodkin and WOW was that a book! I gave it a 5 star rating, it gave me actual chills at the end! Great ending! Anyone who likes mysteries and thrillers would love this series I think, you just have to stick through to the end (like any good mystery)!

StephenKing scares me Karen but it is one of those "can't look away" things. I threw The Running Man by Richard Bachman in the floor a couple of times. It grossed me out so bad I couldn't hold the book.

Finished Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I mostly enjoyed it! Its definitely way better than the first 2 books, and I think I'm hooked now! I really didn't like Daemon in the beginning, thinking he was all that and stuff, so cocky. But he's grown on me, and actually, if I'm honest, at times he reminds me of my hubby LOL!

It was super creepy! I wish the characters had been a bit more interesting, but I liked how suspenseful the plot was.

Now I have started:

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman

I know a bunch of you guys loved this book, so I'm hoping I will enjoy it too! So far I'm finding it a little confusing, but hopefully I will get used to the wacky format. :D

It took a little while for me to get really into it, although I had to laugh at the MCs and all the marking out of the curse words HAHA! After the first 100 pages, I was used to it and was hooked! Its one of those books that picks up in speed as it goes, and by the end it is SO INTENSE!
