message 15710: by Harlee (new)

Harlee | 1583 comments I would continue! The ending almost killed me but... *seals lips* ;) Ruin and Rising might have been my favorite! A very good end to the series!

We Were Here by Matt de la Pena

And wow, it was powerful. My only issue was that it felt a little trope-y/predictable at times, but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

I'm trying to make my 50-book reading goal for the year, so I'm going to squeeze in some shorter/middle-grade books and hopefully I'll be able to reach my goal in time! :D So I've started:

Nightmares! (Nightmares!, #1) by Jason Segel

And I think I'm also going to try:

The Penderwicks A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy (The Penderwicks #1) by Jeanne Birdsall

I finished Confess by Colleen Hoover and I LOVED it! 5 star read! The feels at the end....OMG ;) (That's a private joke throughout the book. The guy's initials are OMG, and the MC pokes fun at him)

I started The Young World (The Young World, #1) by Chris Weitz and it's keeping my interest.

I'm having a hard time reading anything right now because I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7) by J.K. Rowling over the weekend and then watched the two movies. I'm having a hard time pulling myself back into the muggle world.

I needed something easy to read and The Young World fits the bill. Plus it's my Y for the A-Z Challenge. (Only Q to go!) :)

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments @Jenny I loved Confess!! I'm hoping to get November 9 for Christmas!

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments Need to finish The Favorite before it expires. XD; I've just been so excited for Unbound I can't focus on anything else. This happens every time.

Also... Question regarding Throne of Glass... Is it better to read the Novella's (like The Assasin's Blade) first BEFORE reading Throne of Glass itself or...? I really wanna try reading it again but I just wasn't in the mood and I'm just curious since I heard the novella's are prequels.

I recommend reading the novellas first. They are really good reads, and it will give you good back story on the MC and the world.

When that happens to me, I either randomly pick a book from the ones I haven't read yet by scrolling through the titles on my Kindle until one jumps out at me. Or I'll intentionally scroll back to the books I've had on there the longest, and pick whichever one is furthest back on the list that I know I haven't read.
