How are they? Only among the best ya high fantasy books out there.
Different povs, a rich world, realistic flawed characters+++
Well, they are companion books, but if you want to read them all you should read them in publishing order. The 2 and 3 book are set pretty soon after the first one, so reading the 2nd first would spoil you for the first.

This was an awesome conclusion to the series! Honestly, the whole series rocked from beginning to end. It felt like a very long book that was broke up into 3 parts, that's how seamless the story is from book to book. You don't see that a lot, so I really loved that aspect! Although I think the ending might have been a bit unrealistic, who cares? I loved it, and was so happy that some of these characters got a HEA :)

Yepp. Back to back is a good idea as well. I read froi in august but still had some trouble with quintana.
btw, I did some digging(aka googling) and found out there are some novellas set in the universe. With apparences of characters from the books, but based around Celia.

was my favorite in the series. The other 2 I felt kinda lukewarm about. I have no idea why these books are classified as YA when they have such adult content.
I'm juggling three books right now, cause I'm crazy like that! BUT, it's getting a little crazy for me so I'm just gonna concentrate on two for now, Illuminae and Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire!

@Teresa Books 1-3 in the Harry Potter series were re-reads for me but Books 4-7 are first time reads!!!

I'm with you Rose! I'm reading 5 right now but am going to finish up Illuminae first and then back to HP and the Half-Blood Prince before going back to my other 3. ;)

Now I'm reading Lord of the Shadows on my Kindle, and about to start Pale Demon on audio.

Wow. That was fast. Must read.

I finished
last night. I've been reading this for the last few weeks. This was one of the most interesting nonfiction books I've read. The whole thing is a series of short essays that the author wrote for a newspaper column about his own life in books (mainly his addiction of acquiring books) I really related to him on a bookish level, even if we don't read a lot of the same stuff.
I didn't agree with his philosophy on lots of other topics that would come up though, although there wasn't a lot he talked about other than books. But overall, I did enjoy these essays. They were fun and humorous, if a little sarcastic (which I don't mind). And I found it interesting in how similar our thought processes were concerning books in general. If books are your life, you'd probably enjoy this book.

Leaning towards DNFing The Perks of Being A Wallflower. Halfway through and just don't get it so far.

From what I've heard, that's a good call. You should try the movie, though, it was really good!

If I would've seen earlier I would have said try to stick with it because, as someone who thought the book was just okay, you already dealt with the "worst" of it. I felt it ended stronger than it started.
Definitely see the movie though. I love the movie, one of my favorites, period. Even considering the book was meh to me.

Picked up
off the my shelf. Don't know why I didn't start this when I got it months ago. It's wonderful.
I just picked up Go Set a Watchman and The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly. Starting with Watchman, but I'm intrigued by Minnow so we'll see how it goes.
Catherine wrote: "I just picked up Go Set a Watchman and The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly. Starting with Watchman, but I'm intrigued by Minnow so we'll see how it goes."I'm excited to read Go Set a Watchman as well, not sure when I'll get to it though.
I finished the first Molly Fyde book and really enjoyed it. I had no idea how good it would be!
Now, at the request of the author (who gave me their entire series for free), I'm reading
. This one is slowly starting to surprise me. The cover is not reminiscent of the series at all. It's hardcore SciFi (post-apocalyptic), really well written, and has an extremely detailed, well-developed world. The only negative at this point is that sometimes the author doesn't give enough background or explain places, people, and words, almost as if the reader is just expected to know the world as well as him. And then at other times, too much detail is given on things that aren't important to the storyline. HOWEVER, those two issues aside, I'm finding myself eager to pick up the book and keep reading because of how interesting the entire concept is.

It sounds really good David! I grabbed the first book, its FREE on Kindle, but then I saw the Omnibus (includes the 5 books) is on KU, so if I like it, I can read the rest of the series! Score!
I LOVE KU :)

Oh cool! It's very tech-heavy at the beginning and the authors throws around a lot of names of places and people that you don't know much about (which gets confusing), but if you stick with it the story is pretty compelling. I finished book one, which is short and ends on a really good cliffhanger (sort of Game of Thrones-ish). I've started book 2 :)
