Sky (mikotea) | 276 comments @Jenny; I was so disappointed when Keary Taylor changed the name of the book to The Bane. And those covers, ick. But one of my favourite trilogies.

Oh I don't mind the covers Skylee! Mine are signed, I met Keary last year! She is amazing in person!

Yeah the titles could be better though!

As soon as I finally finish Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling which is a HUGE book and is giving me sore arms and muscles, I'll be diving into Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer and Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman , both of which I'm really excited to read!!

You should have totally saved your arms and listened to HP on audiobook. It is wonderful on audio.

I used to read everything Danielle Steel M.J. but that was a few years ago. I remember liking them but at that time there wasn't as much to choose from.

I've read a ton of Danielle Steele. My favorite is the one from the Titanic (can't remember the name) I also really loved Sisters by Danielle Steel

She's not the best writer, I agree. I just love her stories! They are great when I'm looking for something quick, but want to go through the emotional wringer. Most of them will make you cry!

message 15474: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments Almost done with Ten Thousand Skies Above You (Firebird, #2) by Claudia Gray and I like it far better than the first book. Still have a few problems with it but it's good nonetheless. Also switched Burying Water (Burying Water, #1) by K.A. Tucker from audiobook to ebook. I can't stand the narrators, they're doing it all wrong! (because of course I am the expert and should be running a small country - lol!) Also reading an ARC which shall not be named (coughDAVID'scough) and a couple of print books that I'm going really slow on -

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments @Skylee - that happened to me too! I had to read something totally different because nothing seemed good enough after QoS. Drink Slay Love by Sarah Beth Durst did it for me. It's a bit of a comedy so it was different enough to get me back on track. I hope you find something to shake off the slump!!!

Still rereading Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1) by Pierce Brown on audio, and e ARC Ashley Bell by Dean Koontz . Will also be starting Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer sometime today.

That's what I'm trying to do, just find something new and fresh to read. I don't branch out of my favourite genres very often though, it's a problem lol

Heather (hersecretsmile) | 290 comments I've had a harder time focusing on books where you really need to focus on the details and characters lately like Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer (which I just started Tuesday). So I picked up Rebel Belle (Rebel Belle, #1) by Rachel Hawkins yesterday and I can already tell I'm going to have a much easier time focusing on this one.

I hear you about the focusing thing, Heather. I always grab whatever I happen to be rereading at the time for those moments.... Harry Potter for me right now. :)

Finished Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman 4 stars
A western! I haven't read one of these in awhile! This was a true western, with lots of shootings, poker games, riding around on horses, and spitting. Loved it! Fun read.

Also finished Beastly Bones (Jackaby, #2) by William Ritter and The Map (Jackaby, #1.5) by William Ritter both 5 stars, LOVE that series!

Wow, I'm kind of surprised none of you like that one––it's one of my faves! :D I like the movie a lot too, but I still like the book more. I don't know, something about it just really hit home for me, but I see how it's not for everyone.

To be fair, I didn't dislike the book at all. I just didn't love it either. I've read it twice and don't regret it, just not a favorite. It would teeter between 3 and 4 stars for me, probably falling back down to a 3.
The movie I just absolutely loved for some reason.

So, for me, it isn't dislike book/like movie, it's like book/love movie :)
