LOL :) The good thing is that it's a very small part of the actual plot, which is really good.

Jackaby was a disappointment for me, too. I was hoping it'd be more like The Monstrumologist or something, but it wasn't nearly as scary. :P

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments Yesterday I finished:

The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1) by Renee Ahdieh

I liked it a bit more towards the end, but over all I wasn't in love with it.

Today I started:

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir

I've only read like 50 pages but it's exciting so far! I do feel like it's similar to a lot of other dystopias I've read, and also I'm not a huge fan of the dual first-person pov, but I'm hoping it's at least a fun read.

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments I'm reading a bunch of books right now. Still reading Heir of Fire and started reading Slip, which I'm not sure how I feel about it's a little confusing right now. I also have The Girl in the Leaves to finish as well.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 957 comments I have a question for people who have read the Benny Imura books, particularly Flesh and Bone. It's not much a spoiler at all, it's nothing to do with plot, but I'll put it in a spoiler tag anyway just to be safe.

I recently finished City of Savages by Lee Kelly and it was SO GOOD!

Right now rereading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling and loving it! Also reading Patient Zero (Joe Ledger, #1) by Jonathan Maberry and its really good! I love Joe Ledger, I love this world that Maberry created, and its so cool to see how it all went down!

Ashley Marie Owl and the Japanese Circus (Adventures of Owl, #1) by Kristi Charish 4 stars

enjoying a reread of Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer in preparation for the final book next month -- not sure if I'll get to Scarlet and Cress in between, but that's okay.

message 15196: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments Ashley, I've been thinking I should probably re-read all the Lunar Chronicles before the last book comes out! But I don't think I will actually have time, lol. :P

Anyway, I finished:

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir

I liked the first half or so, but didn't like the second half of it. So, over all it was just okay for me.

Started:

Seraphina (Seraphina, #1) by Rachel Hartman

message 15197: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie B, the audio has taken me two days and it's narrated very well if you want to try it. I think I gave Ember 2-2.5 stars.

message 15198: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments Good to know! I don't usually listen to audio books but maybe I will give it a try. :) I also gave Ember 2 stars––seems to be a very polarizing book. As soon as I added it to my to-read list I got a bunch of comments that ranged from "omg yes it's amazing" to "don't read it ever! it's horrible!" lol. :D

Harlee | 1583 comments I just finished Ruin and Rising (The Grisha, #3) by Leigh Bardugo and I really liked it a lot! I think I'll start Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (Between, #1) by April Genevieve Tucholke either tonight or tomorrow.
