The BotM poll has never been this close before! There's always been a clear winner! It's fun to watch!!
First time visiting here in a while, I think I'll do a comment spree on the different threads now.Well, I haven't read anything for a long time, because I just started school and life got really chaotic. But I'm trying to get back into the swing of things now.
Next on my list are
,
, and
, when it comes out soon.

@Daniel I'm looking forward to seeing what you think about The Runaway King. I'm on the fence about if I should read it or not.

You are starting back with two solid reads - loved Ready Player One and enjoyed Runaway King

YAY! I'm going to be reading the book of the month when it actually is the book of the month! LOL!
(I'd already planned to read Alice In Zombieland next month, whether it won or not).

Yeah...its kind of like enjoying Ender's Game, even though that author is personally horrible!

Oh yes! I forgot about that part!
Reading
and I'm really enjoying the originality of the concept. I also really like the characters in this one. Its basically about our world in the future...but its been altered, by the invention of "The Great Library." Basically it started a long time ago as a way to house all of the world's knowledge so anyone could learn. Over the centuries, its turned into the governing agency of all things. Books are now illegal, as well as producing or writing them in any shape or form, other than a personal diary that everyone is given when they are born. When they die, the Library archives the personal journals. The Great Library hoards all information, and releases what it deems "fit" to the masses, in other words, keeping the general public ignorant.
The MC, Jess's family deals in the black market of books. There are books still out there, being hoarded or traded illegally. His father buys Jess's way in to become a scholar at the Great Library, so basically spy for the family.
The class of scholars are basically competing for 6 spots. This part of the book really reminds me of The Testing.
There's a little bit of magic and alchemy involved here, as there is no such thing as a printing press, its never been invented. Newspaper and textbooks are digital tablets, that are uploaded with the proper information when needed, then deleted automatically. Nothing written is ever saved, except for the personal journals and what's inside The Great Library.
Kind of a scary future! I'll let you know what I think of the ending, but so far I'm really liking it.

That's always the best feeling...finishing a book you like and then picking what's next :)

@Jenny It's such a good feeling but at the same time I could just stare at my shelf forever trying to pick something lol!

I thought it lacked character development, and it was a shame, because the concept was so cool. Hope you like it more than I did.
@karen I have 30 pages left in HP and the Chamber of Secrets! I've been sick in bed all day with a horrible head and chest cold, croupy cough and lost my voice, so perfect time to lie down and read.

I hope so too! I kind of agree, the character development is probably the weakest part of the book, but still very likable and interesting characters, so it hasn't bothered me :)

I finished
and overall I really liked it. It was a bit predictable at the end, and I could see every twist from a mile away, but overall, an enjoyable read.

I am almost done re-reading The Diviners and then I am finally going to start:
AHHHHHH.
But I also have four books to pick up from the library, so ... I have a lot of reading to do. o_o
Yesterday and today I've been super sick in bed with a head and chest cold and a barky croupy cough and no voice....so a perfect time to lay down and read.I finished my re-read of
and loved it even more the second time. I will be continuing the HP series with
in October.Help! I don't know what to read next! I'm debating between continuing
, which really isn't holding my interest, or starting
as a re-read so I can finish that series or
so I can read that series. Help!
