Last night finished Bad Taste in Boys (Kate Grable, #1) by Carrie Harris It was okay, it was actually kind of funny! Like a zombie spoof!

Also finished The Next Forever (Pretty Amy, #2) by Lisa Burstein which I loved! Starting to become a big fan of Lisa Burstein, and can't wait for her next book in March!

Now I'm rereading Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows and then I get to read Asunder (Newsoul, #2) by Jodi Meadows !!!

Patricia Hamill (patricia_hamill) | 1 comments Just finished reading The Adventures of Jimbo, the Homeless Cat by Enrico Antiporda . It's a cute children's book with some good lessons in it. I loved the pictures and it actually brought tears to my eyes twice. I'm rating it five stars. When a book makes me feel for the characters, that's a good book.

I finished The Goddess Inheritance (Goddess Test, #3) by Aimee Carter and I was a little disappointed. It wasn't nearly as good as the first 2 books, although the ending was good!
If you want to read a Greek Mythology series, I would recommend The Medusa Girls Series by Tera Lynn Childs Sweet Venom (Sweet Venom Series, #1) by Tera Lynn Childs Sweet Shadows (Sweet Venom Series, #2) by Tera Lynn Childs instead of The Goddess Test series.

Reading Asunder (Newsoul, #2) by Jodi Meadows right now and LOVING IT!!!

Amy (DemonKittie) (demonkittie) Just finished Bones Are Forever (Temperance Brennan, #15) by Kathy Reichs now going to read Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer . Might work on reading The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling & The Crucible (Part 1) by Ruby Barnes

message 1421: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2372 comments I really liked Casual Vacancy. It is a slow start but I ended up plowing through the end to find out what happened. It makes me sad that some people judged that book soley on the fact that it was not Harry Potter. Authors are artists in their own right and IMO can write about whatever story is playing in their heads.

Well said, Heidi! I agree with your comment that people judged The Casual Vacancy for not being more similar to Harry Potter. I loved the Harry Potter series as well but I thought The Casual Vacancy was an amazing book in it's own right. I listened to the audio CD which was very well done.

message 1426: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments I also finished Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi on Saturday. Then I started Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins . I'm about 80% done. I'm hoping to finish it tonight so I can download and start The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead tomorrow. Then I need to attack my library books and then get back into the Dwellers saga.

Anna and the French Kiss is one of my favorite contemporaries!

Finished Asunder (Newsoul, #2) by Jodi Meadows and it was amazing! Next up is Unraveling (Unraveling, #1) by Elizabeth Norris

message 1428: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments I'm liking it, but not loving it. I think that's probably because contemporaries just aren't my favorite. I tend more toward paranormal or dystopian, but after Unravel Me, I felt I needed to read something different, so I wouldn't compare anything to it.

Mara (maraanne) So far, I am, which I honestly didn't expect. Cyborgs and a science fiction futuristic world and androids with personalities aren't my thing. But so far, I'm pretty impressed. Which is exactly why I'm willing to give pretty much any book a chance, because there's always at least one out there that ends up being the exception to my rule. :)

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments I am currently reading The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner which is so awesome. I have had it on my Kindle a while, since it was offered free or cheap for a very short time. I see the sequels and prequel are all more than I usually spend but will have to spring for these I think. My 14 year old grandson would like this one too I think. I saw some not so great reviews of Maze Runner and I cannot figure out why now that I am reading it. I suspect that was why I didn't read it earlier. So far it is amazing. I am only 18% in but wow! I heard so many mentions of it here and other places I thought I would give it a try and so glad I did.
