Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Karen: I hope you're enjoying yourself.

Tommy: I used to watch Yu-Gi-Oh! Haven't seen it on TV in ages though, and haven't gotten around to getting it on DVD yet. I also played the game, but had to stop when my sight got bad enough so I couldn't read the cards any more. Gave the cards to my brother, because he used to play a lot too, and was annoyed to learn he'd sold them (which I wouldn't have minded so much, except he let some rare ones I had go for literally a few pence, when some of them - like my full set of exodia cards - were worth a lot more). If I'd know they'd just get sold, I'd have sold them myself, and made some decent money out of them. He did the same thing with my Pokemon trading cards.

I really loved that book, love the whole series really. The more reviews a book gets the more likely it will have some bad ones mixed in. I think going by reviews is hard. I know I've read books people raved about and absolutely hated and then read books with iffy reviews that I just loved.

message 14112: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments @Donna I don't usually read the reviews cause often times I find they are wrong. For example, The Selection series got really bad reviews but I loved them. I think it's all a matter of taste and opinion and every book should be given a shot.

message 14115: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments @Lucy - Servants of the Storm is an eerie book with a pretty decent creepy factor to it. I guess I've always felt like those books are best enjoyed in the fall. The crisp air and cool days seems to add to the creep. :)

You are a doll, BFF!! Origin (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout was my favorite of the series so far! Wow! Armentrout held nothing back!I didn't realize there were 5 books. I think I've been living under a rock! On to find Opposition (Lux, #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout .

I also read Beacon 23 Part 3 Bounty (Kindle Single) by Hugh Howey Mamachari Matchmaker (Kami No Sekai Short Story Series #3) by S.J. Pajonas and Nil Unlocked (Nil, #2) by Lynne Matson ..!! Nil is definitely a favorite series now! Can't wait for book 3!

Now reading Homecoming The 100 Book Three by Kass Morgan and not sure what's next after that. Vacation is letting me read like a fiend!

My friend, Kay, just finished David's Archangel Evolution (The Evolution Trilogy, #3) by David Estes and started Brew (Salem's Revenge, #1) by David Estes last night. I could hear her giggling like crazy over Hex's antics. ;)

I loved the Anne Of Green Gables books, and was told Emily Of New Moon was even better. I agree with whoever it was who told me that (I don't remember who it was now).

I've got a couple more of her books to read too... Planning to get to them soon.

I agree with this heavily. Even a very well written, well thought out and well informed review is nothing but an opinion. Not all opinions are equal, but they're all still just opinions. I wouldn't say I agree that EVERY book should be given a shot, as there's stuff that I am just thoroughly not interested in. If a synopsis interests me though, I'm probably gonna read the book.

Just finished reading Expelled (Sweet, #0.5) by Emmy Laybourne (the prequel novella) and Sweet by Emmy Laybourne

This was SO GOOD! A wonderful, knuckle biting, crazy thriller! LOVED it, even more than Monument 14! I def recommend it, if you like zombies/thrillers!

*side note* There aren't actual "zombies" in the story, they are all human...but they tend to start acting like zombies. I don't want to give it all away, but its FREAKY! ;)

Oh and Kay is now reading Boil (Salem's Revenge, #2) by David Estes . I was dozing at the beach and I hear her cackling and all she can get out out is, Hex... grenade..., blew up... farting smoke.... in between her snorts of laughter! It's hilarious watching her reading David's Salem's Revenge series.
