Oh, nice, that works out. I'll probably be at about 1/3 or 1/2 of the way through by then. A BR thread would be awesome :)

Tell me about it!

With this thread, and others like it that recommend books, I doubled my to-read list this year... And the year isn't over yet!

Bearing in mind, this is with only adding books I'm 100% certain I want to read...

I doubt I'll ever get them all read, but I'm going to read as many as I can in my lifetime. And, hey, at least I have plenty of options available for people who want to buy me books to choose from!

I've had less reading time than normal recently too. Although, "less time than normal" for me still means I read more than a lot of people, so I can't complain really.

11 days of nothing but reading... Sounds great! Enjoy!

Finished The Orphan Queen (The Orphan Queen, #1) by Jodi Meadows --LOVED it!! I didn't like it quite as much as Incarnate, but I have major love for that trilogy. The writing in the Orphan Queen is better, though, and I think its overall just a better fantasy world. I also really liked the characters.

Yeah, though most of them are quite short books.

I'm trying to read some of the books I've had on my Kindle for ages, while at the same time trying to put a dent in my "to read" list. I'm managing the first part, but I dare say I'll soon end up adding more to the list of books I want to read, and the dent will vanish. But, hey, at least I'll have gotten to some of those books I've been meaning to read for a while; with a few newer additions to my to read list thrown in, of course.

I've got a to read list here on Goodreads, which has a couple of thousand books on it; nearly 4000 actually. Maybe about a third of those - perhaps a little less - are ones I actually own and have on my kindle waiting for me to read them. The rest are ones I just want to read, but haven't got yet.

message 14020: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) I have a different way of organizing my books then most I see. I have four categories for book I own divided into Teen, Adult, Manga, and Non Fiction. I have the same four categories for books I'm going to buy. I also have a need to finish series and/or serial. And finally a calendar of when books I have either checked, want, or need are released. I know some are even more specific but I prefer a simple but organized way. ^-^

Right now, my cycle is: read a physical book off of my shelves (I have a "to-read" bookshelf I pick from), read a library book, read an ebook. It seems to be working well.

This week, though I'm going to probably only be reading library books. Our summer reading program is almost over, and for every library book I read, I get my name in for the big prizes at the end. So want to get my name in as much as possible!

I don't blame you for that; I'd want to get my name in as much as possible too!

I don't tend to get books from the library, because the selection of accessable to me books they have isn't worth the trip there, and I don't like having to give them back anyway; I'll only end up buying them anyhow. So I just buy my books.

Usually I have an audiobook and an eBook on the go at once, but I don't have any audiobooks I haven't listened to at the moment, so for now my focus is on eBooks... Which I have several hundred of waiting to be read.

I have so many unread ones because I went nuts grabbing free books when I first got my Kindle, and between doing that and grabbing more since - some free, some ones I brought - my pile of eBooks grew quite quickly. Now I'm on a mission to get as many of them read as possible (helped a little by the fact quite a few are short books).

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments Just finished The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. Definitely a great thriller. The characters were infuriating but that only sucked me in further. I was constantly trying to figure everything out. And it only got better as the book went along. Highly recommend.

Next up: An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. Really excited to read this one!

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments @Karen - the beginning is definitely slow. But it does pick up as it goes. I think it's a challenge in the beginning because Rachel is just so... Messed up. But unreliable characters usually are.
