Curse of the Wendigo was my favorite

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments I still need to finish Curse of the Wendigo, the mood just hasn't hit me yet to finish it.

Of Triton (The Syrena Legacy, #2) by Anna Banks I started this sucker last night thanks to that ending of, Of Poseidon... I think a power nap is needed before any reading is assumed again...Worth it but man...

message 13403: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 957 comments I finished The Isle of Blood (The Monstrumologist, #3) by Rick Yancey last night, and while the first two books were excellent, this one won me over just a little more because of the way Yancey focused on certain relationships and how he made me flip flop on my opinions of certain characters.

Up next Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo , a cape and tights story by an Emmy winning TV writer. Should be fun :)

Yep, it's my favorite genre and I have read so many it is hard to find more really good ones but they are out there. I am loving this one. Oh, and the good thing is there are already many written in the series, don't have to wait for them to be written.

I'm still at the beginning of An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir . It seems OK so far, but just wasn't in a fantasy mood so switched to sci-fi for now and doing a reread of The Martian by Andy Weir .

I really liked Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis , Daniel, and you already know how I feel about Rot and Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry . ;)

Article 5 was ok. I still need to read book 3 in that series.

I haven't read any of the others, but anything by Patrick Ness should be good!

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 957 comments Just finished Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo and am blown away by how good it was. Wasn't ready for that at all, I got it as something light to break up my darker reads. It is, IMO, every bit as good as the Lunar Chronicle and Monstrumologist books I've been reading recently. Different, but equal in terms of how much I enjoyed. I doubt I'll convince many to check it out. Trust me, I almost passed on it. But if you do skip it, you're passing on what might very well end up being my favorite read of 2015.

Up next, finishing off the Monstrumologist with The Final Descent (The Monstrumologist, #4) by Rick Yancey *excited*

That book looks quite interesting, Tommy. Might check it out. Cover's childish, though. Hope that doesn't reflect the book inside.

Not in the slightest. It's decidedly YA. I expected MG, but no. Not even kind of for kids younger than... I'd say 14 or so(adjust based on maturity of individual kid).

Also reading as ebooks The Accidental Movie Star by Emily Evans Break Your Heart by Rhonda Helms They're both fluff and I'm really not that interested in them - Break Your Heart is from NetGalley, though, so I need to finish it for review.

So you talked me into this book until I saw the price tag. It's over $10 for the ebook version. What's up with that? Anyway, I looked through my library's website and was able to borrow it instead.

I read the first couple of pages, and it looked a little childish. Is that the tone for the whole series?

Oh wow, that is quite pricey. I got it from the library as well just as a filler book so I had no clue about the price. The book is fantastic, but that price... not so much haha.
