What are you reading right now?
I have too many books on the go right now, *shakes fist at currently reading list* but this week it's been
and
I just finished
. Next, I'm going to read
. Yes, I'm back to Indie reading and frequently amazed at the stories.
I had to start this over again... I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it... I'm reading this to get out of my writes block. I should like this book, I freaking loved Top Gun, I watch the local air show every year.
Anne wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It has good potential, but needs work. The author was so busy trying to sound well-educated that the meaning of sentences was often lost amid a jumble of words that felt awkward used side by side, and the wrong version of the words was often used too. Also, many of the actions and reactions of the characters just didn't make sense; they worked to send the story in the direction the author wanted, but weren't how people would really act or react. The people also had behaviours and ideas better suited to today, rather than the late 18th century (which is when the book is set). I read the whole thing, because I always do, but I was tempted mor than once not to do so, and won't read it again.Anyway, I'm now reading The Dreamweaver's Journey: The Age of Awakenings Book 1, which I'm about a third of the way through, and really enjoying. I'm sure I've got copies of both The Guardian Child's Return: The Age of Awakenings Book 2 and Legacy of Mist and Shadow: The Age of Awakenings Book 3 as well, so will look among the stacks of books on my Kindle for those, and read them next.
Oh,and I've just ordered my audio copy of The King's Curse, which will be here in a couple of days, and which I'll start listening to pretty quickly after it arrives. It will be here before Friday (unless the mailman goes on strike again; the Royal Mail hasn't had a strike in the last couple of months, as far as I'm aware, so I expect they're due for one).

The nominations just flew in this month, so it's no wonder you missed it, Jenny!
Finally finished
Not the best book in the series, all and all, but the ending got me like whaaaaat?!Also finished
and
. I've been meaning to read these comics for years and am so glad I finally started. So far it's equal parts hilarious and epic.Up next I'm gonna read
to finish up the Vengekeep Prophecies trilogy. If it's as good as the first two, this could be one of my favorite series.
I finished
and it was SO GOOD, great ending to the series! Also finished
and I really liked this one! One of the better "fairy tales" I have read.
Next I'm reading
and
Lots of crow themed books lately apparently! Although I don't have a clue with The Alex Crow is about, I grabbed it because of the author!

I'm currently reading
and book 2 of the After series
. I am SO hooked on the After series!!!For the first time in my life I DNF a book. I started
last week. Between the Scottish brogue, the endless sea of needless details, and the lack of plot by 40 pages in, I just could not go on. I have never DNF a book ever.

Outlander was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
@Heidi I tried really hard to keep reading Outlander but falling asleep five times over when reading it and dreading picking it back up again told me to mark it as DNF.
I agree with Heidi. Outlander was far too long. I don't blame you for not finishing it Rose! I finished it myself but it took me at least 6 months to get through. I nearly gave up on it several times.

Just put my vote in.

You really don't need to re-read (unless you want to). The two books have some characters and storylines that overlap, but it's not a true sequel IMO.

I thought this was going to be a trilogy with the same characters and a single plot.

the third book will most likely bring the two books together. happens all the time.

No its different characters in each one, but the central plot is about Lilac's Dad's company. The novella is also about that too. So I'm sure it will all tie together by the end.
