What are you reading right now?
I finished The Red Queen early this morning. An excellent read... Can't wait until I can get hold of the others from the series!
Jenny wrote: "Loved Wicked!"I really like it too! It's been ages since I last read it so I've forgotten a bunch of stuff, particularly in the middle and nearing the end, and the musical is much more fresh in my mind -- it's funny comparing the two because of how different they are.

I've seen mixed reviews about Red Queen so I'm glad to see you like it Victoria. I have it on my TBR.
Cari wrote: "I'm currently reading Snow Like Ashes!"I want to read this one to Cari. I've heard it's really good.
I couldn't finish Dorothy Must Die. A lot of people seem to like it though and they encouraged me to keep reading it but I gave up.
I really didn't even want to pick it back up today, but I read another 30 pages or so and it seems like it might get interesting. As much as I hate the thought, I'm thinking this might be a DNF...
I always try to finish a book even when there is a doubt I will like it because you never know. Dorothy Must Die was just not one of those for me.
I used to be like that when reading but lately if I'm not liking a book I can quit it pretty easily. I have SO many others I could be reading lol.

Ditto!! If I'm not feeling it, I'll put it down. Sometimes it's just my mood and I just need to try again in a few months.

You both will love this book! Utterly amazing book!I bought it as soon as I got done reading it from the library and I rarely do that unless it is a dang great book.
Harlee wrote: "I used to be like that when reading but lately if I'm not liking a book I can quit it pretty easily. I have SO many others I could be reading lol."That's me as well. I used to have a hard time quitting a book and would even feel bad as if I was wronging a friend haha. Now, I just look to the stack of books to my left and am like, "Hmm... odds are I'll enjoy one of these quite a bit more" haha.
@michelle and @harlee I was the same way with Dorothy must die, I feel like I should reread it and give it another try because I heard such great things, and I just wasnt in the right mood for iit. But it'd nice to see I want the only one who felt that way

We may be talking about different books... I'm talking about the one that's part of the "Cousin's War" series.
Michelle wrote: "Me too! My stack of books never gets smaller because I read and then I buy some more. Lol"I have the same problem with my to-read list, LOL!
I still have to finnish every book though, even if I'm not enjoying it. I know it would bother me if I didn't finnish it. The one time - years ago - I didn't finnish a book (because I borrowed it from someone, and had to give it back before I was done) I ended up buying my own copy so I could finnish it, because it was bugging me that I hadn't finished reading the book. It had taken me so long to read because I was struggling to get in to it, but when I got my own copy and read the whole thing, I actually ended up enjoying it, because it got better. So, now I won't leave a book unfinished, and since I got a copy to finnish that other book in the end, I can honestly say that I've never failed to finnish a book. I even used to read my school textbooks cover to cover.

I don't finish books that I find a struggle, but I will give it a chance. Usually what happens is I become distracted and then forget I was reading it. Never a good sign. When I was younger, I read all of the Agatha Christie books and they never hook you until half way or more through. I just don't have the patience anymore, I'm afraid.
Alison wrote: "@michelle and @harlee I was the same way with Dorothy must die, I feel like I should reread it and give it another try because I heard such great things, and I just wasnt in the right mood for i..."I probably will give Dorothy Must Die another try, maybe during the summer.

LOL! I always try to push myself to read a book when I am not so sure about it because it may end up being really good. Sometimes my friend use to give me books to read and I would try but I would most likely give them back to her unfinished. I have never found a textbook interesting enough to read it cover to cover. I can barely finish my history reads for this semester and they are actual books, not textbooks.

I find history and science fascinating, which helped to make the textbooks more interesting. The only ones I found dull were some of the geography ones; I like reading about different cultures, and the environmental side of geography, but have never liked - or understood - maps at all.
Natalie wrote: "Hey what are some of the books you can remember from when you were young"
The books that stand out for me are those by Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, and Beatrix Potter. As well as fairy tales by Hans Christian Anderson, and Grimm's fairy tales.
I also really enjoyed Frances Hodgson Burnett's "The Secret Garden" and "A Little Princess" (the latter of which remains my favourite book to this day) and Jill Murphy's Worst Witch series. Plus, since I loved horses, Monica Dickens' "Follyfoot" and "World's End" books were favourites of mine, along with Bonnie Bryant's "Pony Tails" series.
I did also read other books by other authors - some in English, some in Welsh; some fictional, some not - but those were my favourites as a child; and I love them all to this day.
