I finished today, and it was really good! I started it late last night, and about 100 pages in, I realized I needed to finish it during the day! Was getting too scary for me, lol!

Noooo!! Graceling is BY FAR the best book in the series in my opinion. Fire is a distant 2nd (for me) and Bitterblue was a really distant third. I've heard a number of other people say they thought Bitterblue was better than Fire but I really didn't like it very much, way too slow and too much political intrigue for me. Fire was slightly better, but not by much. I was quite disappointed after Graceling, which is still one of my favorite books :)

I love this series also but you might want to put off Opal for a while. Huge cliffhanger and Origin doesn't come out until July!

Got it!!! I would agree the series went downhill after Graceling. I still liked Bitterblue more than Fire, but it wasn't as good as it could have been, for the reasons you mentioned (and some more).
