That wasn't my absolute favorite book ever. It was my very first audio ever so I was struggling with how to listen to audiobooks with a not great narrator and a book that never really grabbed me. :)

Ah I see, I didn't realize you'd read it. If it wasn't so short I'd probably just skip it, but I'm more than halfway so I'll finish it. It just isn't really very unique in any way, that's my biggest issue. The MC is also really unlikeable and there are too many clichés for me. Oh well, I got it for $.50 at the library :)

I finished Conversion by Katherine Howe and it was pretty good...the end gave me actual chills! It was a looong read, with lots of history, and that is what kept me glued to it! And the suspense and the mystery of it.

No idea what I'm reading next!

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Between my 3 library pick ups, The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey , Everlost (Skinjacker, #1) by Neal Shusterman , and Renegade (The Elysium Chronicles, #1) by J.A. Souders , I don't know what to start!!! Help?

I would go with The 5th Wave, already planning to start reading that book for a long time and it really looks good! :)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Ok, I've decided I'll read Renegade first, since it's an August BOTM, and then I'll read the 5th Wave, and then Everlost. (I have a feeling David might want to buddy read that later, so I'm putting it off for now.)

Heather (hersecretsmile) | 290 comments I just finished Burn for Burn. It was alright. It was really well written but a bit juvenile for my tastes. Of Metal and Wishes (Of Metal and Wishes, #1) by Sarah Fine is up next after I get home from work later on. I'm already a few pages in.

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I started Renegade (The Elysium Chronicles, #1) by J.A. Souders today, and I'm almost a third in.
I'm very intrigued by the world building, but I'm finding the characters a bit hard to connect to, and the romance a bit unnatural. I still need more time to really get to know them. Perhaps it will take a few scary life-threatening encounters to really start rooting for them. I'm missing all the action early on.

Ooh yes, I definitely want to buddy read Everlost! They had both sequels at the library but not Everlost, darn! Next time I go to the library hopefully it will be there, I'd love to read all three books in a row :)

LOL! In some ways I'm glad that things have worked out the way they have :) It means readers won't have to wait as long for sequels, although I can't make any promises on when the third book will be out!

Now that I'm having a book hangover from Brew, I can't seem to make up my mind between Horde (Razorland, #3) by Ann Aguirre or a reread of The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner . Thanks to my dear friend Jenny for loaning me her copy of Horde. :) I've started both but can't get my head out of Brew.

I think I'll take a nap instead. ;-D

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I'm still reading Renegade (The Elysium Chronicles, #1) by J.A. Souders . It has SO much potential, but I'm not a big fan of how the romance was developed so quickly and without any particular cause.

You're very welcome! LOL

My original plan today was to spend most of the morning in my art studio, but due to very bad weather, I was denied :( Which made me pretty mad if I'm being honest. So I cleaned my house instead, so at least I did something productive! Then I FINALLY finished
Fireblood (Fireblood, #1) by Trisha Wolfe today and really enjoyed the ending! Then I couldn't decide what to do with myself--so ended up watching The Book Thief again. And cried like a baby (again)

Trying to decide if I want to start another book tonight, or cheat and start reading Sanctum (Guards of the Shadowlands, #1) by Sarah Fine :P

That was my biggest gripe too Daniel. I just kind of ignored that part, and focused more on the "Mother" and creepy society!
