message 6018: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 823 comments My library is having a reading challenge and they are giving away bronze, silver and gold prizes. One of the challenges is to read a book with red in the title so I chose Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy, #1) by Kerstin Gier . I am hoping it's good, I haven't heard a lot about it.

Oh I can only imagine! I pre-ordered the paperback of Scarlet so I gave in and used my Audible credit for Cress. Ngl, it was definitely worth it. :)

And also Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair by Pablo Neruda because Pablo Neruda is my heartsong

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments I just finished Wrecked (Wrecked, #1) by Priscilla West . Thank GOD that's over! That book was horrendous!

I'm about 25% into Gift by Andrea J. Buchanan , which is markedly better. I'm also reading Element 119 (Element 119, #1) by Jaimie Just for review from the author. I'm expecting good things from it - it has the elements I love: romance and time travel!

I had mixed feelings on it. I thought the religion aspect was really interesting and wanted to hear more about it. And the dystopian future is scarily plausible. But I thought it needed more of a plot arc; after a while it started feeling pretty meandery.

Whoopsies... Infinite (Newsoul, #3) by Jodi Meadows somehow ended up on my Nook. Imagine that!?

message 6036: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Reading Control (Control, #1) by Lydia Kang and Unteachable by Leah Raeder

message 6037: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments Finished Gift by Andrea J. Buchanan and it was hilarious. Seriously - very funny stuff in a hugely entertaining story.

Now adding in Undone (Country Roads #1) by Shannon Richard . Thought I'd throw a little romance in there to break up all the paranormal I've been swimming in. It's a nice balance to Element 119 (Element 119, #1) by Jaimie Just .

Oh, the stories - they never end and are so so so good!

Recently read and enjoyed: The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

Ditto!! I'll have book withdrawals from this one! Sooooo good! And this one felt more sci-fi to me. It's a Sci-Fi fantasy. Probably why I loved it!
