What are you reading right now?
The faction thing makes total sense when you get to Allegiant and learn the how and why it happened.

I am to Ester and I think I will just let the story end with Insurgent.
Yep Jenny, that's what I hear. Actually, I know how it ends so if I don't read it then it can't happen at least not for me anyway.
Divergent held my interest longer than the Hunger Games did, but I've yet to really get far enough into either to really get into them. They just don't grab me enough, so I'm easily distracted and I find them too easy to put down.

It really bugs me that I can't say "Enjoy!" when someone says they are reading Allegiant. Such a big bummer to me. But maybe you will like it, Stephanie, try to keep an open mind I guess!

I've been trying to ignore everything related to this book for months. And I will try my best to enjoy it...
I don't understand why everyone is so upset it is a dystopian novel and characters have been dying left and right. I will be happy to discuss why your upset with the book but it will have to wait until after I finish if you don't mind... =)
Of course, no worries, Stephanie! And that wasn't really exactly why it disappointed me, so I won't say anything more until you've read it!
Jenny wrote: "Of course, no worries, Stephanie! And that wasn't really exactly why it disappointed me, so I won't say anything more until you've read it!"oh ok! Thanks for not saying anything! Now I just want to read it faster lol
Jenny wrote: "Allegiant was so controversial--I don't think any of the book triplets agreed on it! lol"Question - what are book triplets?
Oh, sorry, its what Karen, David and I call ourselves. We have very similar tastes in books. I don't remember who came up with it!
Oh thats awesome! What did David think of Allegiant? Or should I just wait until I finish to ask questions?

I won't give any spoilers, of course, although it sounds like at least one major part was fully spoiled for you :( In regards to that spoiler, I thought it was a brave and good decision, no issue for me except maybe how quickly it all happened. I didn't hate the book, but was definitely let down and didn't think it lived up to the other two. The problem I had was more with the holes in the world building, level of action, and inclusion of FOur as a point of view. I think I would have enjoyed the book a whole lot more if it was only from Tris's point of view, Four was far too whiny, in my opinion. I liked him better from Tris's eyes. And Four's ending was boring and uneventful compared to Tris's, so again, it would have been better told just from Tris's eyes. But those are just my opinions :)
Overall, worth reading though, but I thought series like Legend and Across the Universe and The Knife of Never Letting Go were much stronger through the third book.

I really loved the entire Eragon series :)

Interesting, thanks for your input David! I'm not even 100 pages in yet but I am definitely going in with more of an open mind than I was before. We are getting a snow storm tonight so I will most likely finish within the next day or so. I look forward to discussing with everyone =)

Enjoy and you're most welcome! There reviews were really mixed so I'd say there's just as good a chance you'll love it as not, so I'm glad you're going at it with an open mind :)

I have heard nothing but great things about Fangirl. I'm just starting the Audio book, so will comment a little more later. But Rainbow Rowell's
Eleanor & Park was so amazing in Audio book that I had to purchase the book. Great new author (to me).
I agree, Kristina! I'm a huge fan of Rainbow Rowell now, love E&P SO MUCH, but was unsure if I would like Fangirl--and I did! I need to read
!

is my next to be read.
Currently, I'm reading:
which is a re-read for me, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book.
, picked this one up at the Friends of the Library book sale earlier today.
, one of my FAVORITE stories of all time and a slice of my childhood. <3
I think as with my favorite author Patrick Ness, I appreciate Rainbow Rowell's YA books more than their adult books. I liked Attachments but did not love it like E & P or Fangirl.

I'm in the middle of several books at the moment. Still trying to get through
. Also still reading
Started
last night and it was really good so far! Very new and clever concept and very addicting! And then I pulled my random read for the month
and read the first chapter. It looks promising! Very interesting characters!

I liked Divergent after I first read it but when I thought about it afterwards I realized I didn't like it as much as I thought I had. Something about the whole faction thing - it seemed a little ridiculous to me.
